There’s an article on Sky News regarding Carlisle Utd and their 9,999 limit to capacity to avoid Plan B restrictions. Which when you read into it makes sense, and they don’t get over that number either. There’s also a bit further down about Luton Town…. I thought the Luton Figures were interesting - especially in terms of where their revenue must come from? Especially when they say they haven’t held more than 10k in over 30 years.
If we count actual people in the ground not tickets sold to boost a fake attendance, we could have some games without a passport.
I’ve no idea what figure that works out then, and how it compares to ours. Seems decent though, considering some of their players.
Only after the fact though. And I reckon even with those not in attendance. We would have been above 10k when you take away fans into account.
There's a thought.. close the rest of the home ends at Oakwell, cos they've already paid. Then just allow away fans in.. and bingo well under 10k no Q's and making money.
Based on what their man says on here https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...et-insists-NOT-facing-financial-meltdown.html
Having watched most games from the view of the TV, I'd be surprised if we've made it over 10K much this season. The stands are so empty. If you're towards the back they may appear quite full, but the front half, there's no one in there. No one at all in the West Stand. Ponty End certainly not half full, East Stand, what, maybe two thirds full. The East Stand holds 7,492, The Ponty 4,508. Claiming 7,500 Barnsley fans would be being very generous. So you'd need 2,500 away fans to break the 10,000 barrier. How many have brought more than that?
Irrespective Jay. ( and although the last match was was poorly attended. Due to several factors) 11k have to be taken into account. I reckon the club are indeed counting all ST holders. But apart from Huddersfield. (Weather/bus strike/performance) I would put the figure much higher than yours. Away fans have totalled above 2.5k over several recent games. United/Derby/Huddersfield to name but 3. Given the next 2 home fixtures. We may well have more than 2.5k away fans. (Bearing in mind WBA and Stoke are on tv. Boxing Day is usually a bigger crowd than normal)
Having watched all the matches from home inside the ground there has been well over 10,000 every match , & the fact that there are 11000 season ticket holders then you have to work on the fact that they could all actually turn up & therefore you have to follow the new rules, plus of course the away fans have to be counted so unless the new rules change then we are stuck with it for the time being .
Total actual attendance all season has been over 10k easily, because of away fans. We sold 11k season tickets, with maybe 100-200 pay in gate. Out of that, I reckon we’ve gone between 8-10k actually turning up. But other factors affect that - winter weather, results and Covina concerns. As well as the West Stand issue. Always been the same though. Emirates has been the same several times under Emery and late Wenger periods.
