An outstanding bloke who made sure after the game - once he’d calmed down - to come find us, to spend time with all of us staff that he knew from last season. Nothing but love and respect.
Pleased you've posted that because he wasn't so gracious on Sky Sports. Mind you I'd be annoyed if I had Jobi Mcanuff and Lee Hendrie stuck up my arse.
http://westbrom.com/forum/index.php?topic=25961.2100 They really don't like him. Literally hundreds of people being negative about him.
Said nothing wrong on sky sports to me he comes across as a decent bloke who’s focused on winning and there’s nothing wrong with that plus he gave us a season to remember last year.
not saying he didn’t but that’s not the image he gave to the ordinary fans. Everything I heard never referenced BFC
The bloke gave us one of our best ever seasons. I know it’s easy to forget how incredible it was due to how ***** quickly that’s all evaporated, but we were a horrible team to face last season and upset everybody everywhere we went. Rattled clubs and their respective staff and players every week. It was mint. Right up my street. They hated us. Nobody wanted to play us. And he was the figurehead of all that. I’m not sure it works at bigger clubs who’ve enjoyed better times. But that’s for them to worry about. I’m sure he will get WBA a top six finish. Will that be enough for them? Don’t know, don’t care. But Val loved his time here and represented BFC impeccably.
I think the blokes just a winner he hates losing or dropping points and he gets very wound up by it as he looked at full time yesterday. Loved him when he was here a manager with character and enthusiasm unfortunately we couldnt keep him.
Personally I'll be amused if West Brom sack him as its what I thought would happen. The fans were never going to be happy playing that style in the championship. I would be much more interested to see how he would fare in the PL playing the same way.
I wouldn't if we rebuilt with him he would be off again and take all our staff with him again! Rightly or wrongly a large part of our seemingly inevitable relegation will be down to what happpend in the Summer.
Lot of posts there, saying the same things Barnsley fans said last season. If he were to get another striker and creative player in,it may turn things around for them. I think WBA fans are anxious about returning to the Premier league, just like Sheffield United fans were for a couple of months, until reality hit home.
Maybe he can get them to finish seventh, get the sack, and return to BFC to get us out of League One.
