Selling all his stuff and says he's going back to Austria: Shame it hasn't worked out for him under the new managers but you can't deny he always worked his nuts off.
Shame. Looked like he could be in for a good season after 2 goals in his first 4 games. Probably the biggest casualty of moving away from the high press, and an example of the danger of changing your style of play having spent 4 years buying players suited to that style.
The annoying thing about this is that if you believe the rumours he’s not been in the squad for football reasons but because Conwy says he’s too old
Always gave his all, decent finisher and also seemed to have good positional sense. Shame he's going.
Not a surprise as the new coach seems to have kept him well away from matchday squads of late. Also not a surprise given we have so many forward players that it's ridiculous. What it does is highlight further how ridiculous our speedy churn of coaches is and that the headline notion of always playing a press fails to take account of the considerable differences of styles and formations from one coach to the next leading to a significant shake up in the squad every 6-12 months. Good luck to him, but despite his undoubted effort, it was a poor signing and I suspect yet another that we've made a loss on.
Good luck to him but suspect it's the right decision. We need to shift a few out to hopefully bring in some fresh blood. He always gave 100% and will always be remembered for scoring a winner for us at Hillsborough.
I’ve never been hugely keen on him but nobody can deny his work rate. Not many reds get winners away at Wednesday so he should be remembered for that. Wish him all the best back in Austria.
Never going to score enough goals but a real 100%er. Good luck to him and I hope he takes away happy memories of our play off run and his winner against Wednesday.
I don't necessarily disagree with the decision, but it's the first time I can recall a player announcing his own departure.
Anyone who is not automatically in the starting 11 can go.. no point what so ever in keeping em. We've seen what they can do. So if we can move em on then do so, to bring other.. maybe's.. in.
I think it's just me whose glad him Woodrow and Styles might be off. Palmer can go too. We need a clear out.
