Remember to say that Michael Bubbles Christmas album is brilliant when having a conversation with the wife and not that it’s a pile of pants
I once put my foot in it DJing an event in Penistone. The "act" said he was a Michael Buble tribute. I said I thought Michael Buble was a tribute act....
You should listen to the lyrics, he is an excellent song writer: but obviously not on the same scale as your good self
I thought the Rat Pack were great. The swing era lead into rock & roll. Songs For Swinging Lovers by Sinatra was groundbreaking. That was 50 years ago though. Do I need to listen to a poster boy, who has the voice, but is in the wrong era for me. Would still rather listen to Nina Simone or Etta James TBH.
Mickey Bubble is one of my pet hates. He doesn't even get one word out before I switch him off. If he was a lollipop he'd lick himself to death
Buble makes Shaking Stevens look groundbreaking. Strummer, Mayfield, Coltrane, Linkous, Perry.... not ******* Buble. Should really have put Bruce in that list, given the OP, but I'm more Dylan or Townes Van Zandt.
Try listening to Andy Williams for 6 weeks before Christmas. Give me Buble, bubble, bubbles any day of the week.
Sinatra was blessed when he and Nelson Riddle got together. The music that Riddle could perform will live on forever. As an aside, my mum and dad bought two extended play singles of Sinatra's Songs for Swinging Lovers, presumably in the 1950s. "I've got you under my skin" with the iconic trombone solo is on there. I still have the two records. Fantastic. But I cannot cope with Nina Simone. She drives me up the wall ! Opinions, eh.
