Let's see what happens in January before we get all worked up. Remember how poor he was for us? Maybe we've a replacement lined up to use the cash towards? Maybe it's Poya who's watched footage of his time at Oxford and is happy with it? Maybe it's a chance to get back some short term cash towards someone so far who has flopped since signing for us? Maybe him getting Oxford promoted will get us a profit on him that recalling him to a struggling side wouldn't? Maybe he didn't want to come back so forced our hand?
Playing alongside someone like Mowatt with a few hundred games behind him you're going to look better than playing next to a couple of Premier League developmental players with barely a match of note between them. Kane was pants for us. Guys like Benson being as bad as Shea and Frimpong doesn't hide it. We haven't properly replaced the club captain.
Watching tonights display, our idfield is as weak as water and Blackburn pressed them in giving the ball away and it has happened regularly this season. So why are we allowing Herbie Kane to stay at Oxford when it is plain for all to see that all our midfield are not good enough at this level. It doesn't make any sense.
Ouldnt agree more. Letting Kane stay at Oxford beggers belief. We are down before the Christmas decorations.
I said maybe….. Player of the month…. Oxford fans love him…. No likes or anything on his Twitter account for anything Barnsley…. Reading between the lines. He cost us quite a lot, Oxford are willing to pay something.., he doesn’t want to be here…. If he played for us like he does for them, he’d be a great loss.
At least we heard it from The Club first, rather than elsewhere. Oh wait. So in the last 2 weeks, we found out that Frieser was leaving from him flogging his life on Facebook and we've found out that Kane isn't coming back from that odious tool of a manager of theirs (even though I'd have him above 3 out of the last 4 idiots that we've had). Great communication from our Club.
Let the poor lad stay at Oxford. Dragging him back here won't do him any favours. It won't save our season, either - he's not Superman. He can come back next season as a well-developed, creative, confident League One midfielder. Exactly what we'll be needing.
Having said that i believe if these owners receive a derisary offer from Oxford in the summer...he will be gone.
Yes, that's a more likely outcome. We're going to have to balance the books somehow when we fall into L1. I doubt selling Woodrow will be enough and I'm struggling to see anyone offering much for anyone else.
At first glance, through a purely football based prism, this move just seems crazy. But then consider the financial side. We’ll be having some of his wages paid. And we’ll have received a pretty nominal amount to remove the recall clause. What that should do is set alarm bells ringing as to just how weak our cash position is that such nominal savings are so attractive to us at present.
His value more likely to go up playing well for them than playing for us. Needs to improve player value
