Like all managers Hecky has his good and bad moments and clearly he was struggling with the direction the club wanted to take. History looks like proving him right on that one with 3 relegations in 5 years.

would we be better if him or any manager with experience of managing in the league was at the helm I’m going with a yes.

I live and work around leeds fans they had a offer on that season where if leeds failed to make the play offs season ticket holders got 15% back or off next seasons season tickets hecky took over a few points off the play offs he won 3 games in 17 and one was against us when keiffer missed a sitter from about 3 yards out to make it 2-2 he wasnt well liked at leeds and there was pressure to get shut. He was on a 3 year deal at leeds and lasted 6 months.

I worked in scotland when he was at hibs he wasnt well liked up there either. But fair play to him again got paid out of a contract.

I think united have a good squad mix of talented young players and experience who have done it before players he knows and has worked with before. He should finish top 6. Im not too bothered you have your opinions i have mine. Im more concerned about my own team atm than Sheffield United, paul heckingbottom or lee johnson.
But has lee johnson been wihh your lass? You seem to have a real hate for him.

Bielsa was lined up to take over. It was a done deal. Leeds fans expected a big name manager and got Paul but everyone knew it was short term.

Again all you do is come across as bitter and sad not willing to credit someone for his success. No point going over this with you as you just regurgitate the same irrelevant dribble when the truth is like many you like to hate on anyone local and successful.

Johnson is the worst manager I’ve ever seen at oakwell based on the quality of players he had to work with. Other than that I have zero feelings got him and hope he goes well in his career

Yeah you see unlike you I hope all our former managers and players go forward well in their careers. Don’t cling to bitterness it’ll just make you unhappy.

Patrick cryne was terminally ill at the time when conor left having treatment in sheffield. When hecky did eventually go the club had been taken over.

Hourihane left before the consortium took over.

Yeah i know. Was just saying off field the club was in a bad place as cryne wasnt in good health at all and terminally ill receiving treatment trying to sell the club at the same time.

In fairness Cryne said some contradictory things before his illness. He said that the club wouldn't listen to offers for Hourihane and Winnall and that they were going nowhere. He then said he didn't offer them contracts because he thought they wouldn't sign them. He then said he'd offered Hourihane the best deal ever offered to a Barnsley player to stay. Hourihane said this wasn't true. There was never a contract offer. I take owt posted about Patrick Cryne with a pinch of salt. That fella did know how to keep his cards close to his chest. (Rest his soul).

We can go into there where’s and why-fors until the cows come home, but in the end it comes down to money and opportunity- if Leeds come in for your manager and you’re a club our size he’s always going to say yes whoever he is.
