Not you personally. I have loads of great friends in London. Working in the music industry a large amount of my friends live there & I love certain parts on London, like Ladbroke Grove, Camden and Walthamstow of all places I have a real affinity with. I was referring to Government policy, which I thought was obvious. I don't want you to die. I just wish "levelling up" wasn't just a phrase to save Tory seats won after a semi racist election campaign based totally about delivering Brexit. Hope that clears it up.They haven't delivered a Brexit that is helping anyone in this country. Johnson could not deliver a pint of milk or a letter to the right address. He can clearly negotiate a woman's private parts, have floppy hair & play the buffoon, oh yes & he went to Eton. Up to the last point I thought I might run at the next election.
People will be catching some variant of covid in ten years time. It's with us in one form or another probably forever. Of course there should be a time when isolating is scalled back to only testing people who actually feel ill. We took over 700 to Blackburn last night and many will have covid without knowing, but people still went.
That’s completely and utterly irrelevant. Let me give you a scenario. I run a hospital ward. One of my staff gets Covid. Your dad/ mum dies from Covid infection and would have otherwise survived. Do you sue me? If not you’re an idiot.
Have you always banned anyone who may possibly have a cold from sites too or are you treating covid uniquely?
Do they? So say the missis can’t down with a case of Ebola or yellow fever or any SARS virus you genuinely believe they would say crack on with treating these clinically vulnerable patients. There’s reality and there is the space you live in.
I never mentioned ebola. People go to work in hospitals every day with infectious viruses. That isnt my opinion it's a cold hard fact.
Anyone with a temperature is not allowed access to our site buildings. They can then attempt reentry as obvs short term factors can create issues. If they fail the second time they are advised to contact their line manager. Only the densest idiot on the planet would think that Covid equates to a cold so I’m assuming you gave mistyped but yes if they have flu they would be blocked from access equally. Interestingly absence levels are at a record low surprising what you can achieve with decent sick pay and discouraging infectious people from attending work.
Are you saying that you have always had mandatory temperature checks on your building sites and that they weren't brought in as a response to covid?
And if they went to their line manager and said I have infectious disease that could potentially kill our patients. Do you think the advice would be. A - crack on who cares B - well you better go home then only A or B allowed what do you think the answer would be?
If you are genuinely interested I had trialled them in early 2019 with planned implementation in 2020 regardless of Covid. Covid certainly gave me a whole raft of funding and made the roll out quicker but it was always the long term intention. For clarity this only happens on the bigger sites it’s just not financially practical on smaller ones though we are working on it.
No not at all. You just give fantasy examples and don’t like it when the real world comes in. I am speaking from a purely regulatory point of view. In a workplace we are all as individuals liable for safety. If we share an unsafe incident with line managers then they become individually and corporately responsible. Failure to act is a criminal offence.
To stop people with temperatures attending workplaces where, if they were infectious, they may have passed infection onto other people. We have been looking at the damage of presentism for several years. We bought out sone companies in HK and Japan and looked at what they were doing to improve workplace health. This was one of the measures.
Genuinely impressed not just with your commitment to employee health but also appreciate the informative answer. I know we do have a lot of disagreement ove covid restrictions etc but I do actually find people's opinions interesting and different approaches especially a company approach
At the end of the day mate there’s probably more that unites us than divides us but the divisions sometimes feel more prominent than the things that unite. At heart we probably agree on 95% of things and shouldn’t let the 5% have all the attention. You wouldn’t believe the ******* rigmarole I have to go through to get someone to operate a machine on HS2. I feel like I have to search their internal cavaties for a hint they may have heart disease or may have sniffed a line of coke in 1987.
I get your point from a worse case scenario. You're in a better position than most on here to answer so what do you think is the answer? It can't be approx ten million single use plastic LFTs per week littering the planet forever. Every single day we when out and about we will be close to loads of people who have covid. It's going to be that way for the rest of time maybe. It's a good thing isolation periods are getting shorter. We should put ours as low as USA have theirs.
The end game is two fold. Longer term is pretty reasonable that CV19 will mutate itself into something benign like Spanish Flu before it. Long term vaccines will then be annual and changed to meet the latest mutations like the flu vaccine is. This will then be targeted at specific groups or continue to be universal short term try and muddle through winter with an incompetent govt and a mutation that we know little about following scientific advice. Medium term set up an enquiry into Covid handling by this Govt and corruption and take criminal action where necessary.
