We havent been to a game since early Sept despite being ST holders. Everything about the club seemed off and on the pitch we looked like a relegated team back then.

The ownership has done little to support the club. No money from the owners has been invested and even the ownership of the club and ground is full of dispute and controversy yet the buying of players seems to be the role of these ‘experts’

The days to day running has meant the game day experience has been at best a chore and worst an experience not to be enjoyed. Ticketing issues, lack of safety plan with last min access changes, west stand, scoreboard. In fact there is no positive game day experience.

On the field another self inflicted set of events. Let leadership leave and hope it can be replaced with seniority. Weaken our midfield considerably and start a season with players who don’t look a) fit and and as a unit b) good enough.

It felt wrong in Sep where we simply had had enough. Occasionally watching events from a distance seem things are still going in all areas in the wrong direction. It feels even more wrong now. I feel embarrassed at a lot of things about this club and i feel embarrassed that ive been driven to give up after so many years - around 50, of watching.

We will be relegated without a fight and where the leaders didnt give the club a chance. Where the club seems to have put itself into a difficult position where i don't trust it (Dikes agreed deal was a sham). Im not one to be legged over and put historic loyalty over fun, enjoyment and blind faith and clearly we arent all in it together. I admire those that stay with it and keep believing. Ive lost the energy im afraid and I dont think we will be the only ones stepping away.

I agree with 90% of what you say however I do think they have invested in the players, £1 million for Thomas & £1.25 for Kane , what ever Obbi cost ,we cannot afford to waste such an outlay but Thomas has been nothing short of a disaster & Kane has been pushed away , surely if you are investing this kind of money you want to see a return in a reds shirt & as for Obbi , he has been a complete joke .

In 2017 Cryne sold Winnall and Hourihane, in 2021 Val and Mowatt left for a bigger club.
Different owners same outcome, it happens over and over again and will keep doing due to our income and size of our fan base. We re build and go again, we have successful periods and difficult times thats what its like being a BFC fan.

Fantastic post and agree with every word. The club is in a really bad way.

That was really pushing the boat out! :D:D

No fee - just 50% sell on, although his wages aren't insubstantial (and astronomical in relation to minutes played).

That’s just an excuse for our current ownership

I agree. Investment is more than spending money too. We need to invest in developing them and for both we seem to have passed that on to the other clubs. I get that new signings don't always pay off, but I don't see that we truly attempted to find that central midfielder who could anchor our team.

We’re you embarrassed when we were promoted from League One? Were you embarrassed when we reached the playoffs only a few months ago? Because the club is being run in exactly the same way as back then.

I was embarrassed that we were in the league only due to other clubs misdemeanours. But the club isn't run the same way. We didnt close stands back then and relocate people whether they liked it or not. We didn't have owners taking money out which it appears if reports are right, now be the case. We seem to have signed players based on an individuals whim rather than our spreadsheet model.

However don't be misguided into thinking my embarrassment is only this past few months. Its been getting worse in the last few months but I was also embarrassed the way we sacked Stendel. Embarrassed that we alledgedly renegade on an agreed deal for Miranda. Embarrassed that we legged ourselves out of a £1m fee due to poor contractual arrangements with Hull. Embarrassed that we get into fights with clubs like Hearts over issues. The problem isn't new, but I have to say im feeling it more.

Do you feel happy and proud of everything around our club right now?

I agree to an extent. It is looking like this could be our worst season in at least 100 years. After finishing 5th, that is embarrassing & demoralising. Pacific Media Group are gonna struggle to sell us on at a profit.

I think the failure to develop our players sufficently over the last 12 months through poor coaching has caused a backward step in the overall original plan, it looks like we need to sell a few on to stay sustainable ie Woodrow Helik Styles Collins and rebuild again, thats how it is.

Surely signing a crock of **** in the summer has a lot to do with it & our CEO & pretty much all our backroom staff leaving, with our head coach & team captain?

I am not embarrassed to support Barnsley. They are not my mistakes being made right now and the club has given me lots of happy times over the years.

But I am disillusioned right now, along with many others and there is a real danger this time that my malaise will become permanent.

I tell you what I am though - I never thought I would ever say this, but I am envious of Rotherham United. Nice modern ground, an owner that cares, stability running through the club. They are currently everything I would want us to be, and everything we currently are not.

It does, its all affected it, so its a rebuild required. Val using us as a stepping stone and taking Mowatt and Murray with him and not developing our young players in the time he was here.

This the one biggest mistakes that our board have made, appointing Val, we got an exciting part season sat at home in our armchairs and now left with starting all over again.
2nd mistake appointing Schopp as he could not deliver the transistion of following Val.

Give Poya this season and next to see what he can do and bounce back.

I think if we are not near the top 6 next October he will be gone. Maybe in the summer if our points tally is sub 30.

I agree, its a case of building for next season now let whoever leave in January go to balance the books and let Poya develop our players and find a way of playing that suits them and we should support that because mistakes have been made and we should look forward not moaning and protesting about something that has gone.

Why does someone need to start this exact same thread every day? Can you not just post on the hundreds of other threads slagging off the board?

We shouldn't be surprised when it happens though, Stendel was sacked when apparently talking to other clubs, Struber left at the first opportunity and so did Ismael. It's part of our owners strategy, to recruit coaches and then move them on at a profit at the first opportunity. The appointment of Asbaghi's is just more of the same and illustrates that either a) retaining championship status wasn't seen as the key priority or b) our owners arrogance is such that they believe they know better and championship experience has no value or c) both.
