TBH Gally it was a bit of idle speculation on my part on a dull Friday!

Playing that game though, I presume that the 80% group still hold the option to purchase the land? The main stumbling block would probably be timing. The Gawber/Higham development has a timescale in excess of ten years. I imagine that in this scenario our owners would sell all the land to developers but they would still have the problem of housing the club until a new kitcar stadium could be built. New York here we come!

Interestingly, there is still in existence an approved application (2015) to build 32 houses on the Grove Street School site in the name of a Mr Carl Lee. More detailed conditions for this project were approved by the council in 2019. I don't know if Covid has paused it since.

Doesn't look big enough for 32 houses. Weren't the club on about building accommodation for players at one bit?

Didn't the club once make plans to build houses on the bottom end of the car park?

Costs nothing to buy the building materials and you can persuade the men to work for nothing then?

Yes sorry I seem to recall a plan to build even more taking up almost half the car park? Just before the 2008 recession which I believe scuppered the plans.
