We haven't time to mess around with the situation we are in, so I hope we've one or two new permanent signings in place to start against Barrow to get a little up to speed ready for the two vital home league games that follow.

If we leave it until late in the window to bring some in or shift some deadwood then the white flag has gone up ! We need bodies in now to freshen up

We won’t see anyone in until there have been a couple of sales out. Reckon Woodrow will be gone before the cup game next week.

In all seriousness it is not all that easy to get transfers done at this time of year especially with the current health situation etc but the usual pattern is the domino effect where clubs only allow players to leave when they have sorted a replacement out or receive fees to reinvest , we shall see but I think the fact that next saturday is a cup match it buys us a bit of time .

Think there will be outs but not many coming in. Cut our cloth for next season.

Oh for the days of the Cryne dynasty when we might have used local knowledge to try to sign players like these, who really would positively impact on the second half of the season: I am reckoning on getting experienced players, maybe with a strong link with us already, to strengthen the spine of the team, so central defender to do what Sollbauer did; central/holding midfielder to be Keith Hill's 'handbrake; bustling striker to knock around defenders, get some goals and make the best of Morris, Cole etc. So here goes .....dream on: either Marc Roberts on loan, or Harlee Dean on a permanent from Birmingham City (Roberts because he is one of us already and Dean because he is reportedly available for transfer; Guedioura as central midfielder from Sheffield United because Heckinbottom owes us one; I was also looking at a possible permanent deal for Jay Fulton from Swansea City, who is reportedly being made available for transfer, as well as Liam Walsh, who I seriously rate as holding midfielder and has hardy played for the Swans since his move from Bristol City in the summer; up front, got to be Ollie McBurnie on loan for the second half of the season - I can just see him getting the Ponte End going, bashing defenders around, scoring some and making chances for Morris, Cole etc. He would lift the gloom of both crowd and dressing room at one hit. If I had to choose just one of those, it would be McBurnie on loan, then Guedioura. I would be less bothered about a central defender, as our back three/four are doing okay.

HOWEVER, if it is a clutch of youthful unknowns from Sweden's U23s with no experience of the Championship, forget it! It won't work unless we get some experience, whether on loan, or permanent and it would be better if we could get players who are already held in high esteem by the fans.

Oh for the days which are gone by. What is our Championship status worth to this board? Are they willing to pay out the asking rate for players like these? At what cost if they don't?

Just to get us talking about this window.

Be interesting to see how the owners spin their advertisement for season ticket sales when we go down pathetically and sell everyone this January.

Would love a few new experienced signings , plus for us to have a go at teams rather than the negative slow tactics we are using at moment . I should have put that on my Xmas list

I’ve seen very little evidence to suggest there’s any appetite to bring the experience we need. If we do bring anyone in, I’m expecting them to be more of the same. I think we’re sunk, and I don’t think the owners are too bothered. I can’t get my head around that, but I believe that’s the case. I’ve not seen enough intent to suggest otherwise.

That’s what I don’t understand. We face a £6m loss in income in L1 and the owners don’t seem bothered.
It’ll take a few player sales to make that up and we’re not exactly flush with talent attracting interest.
    Truly baffling….

You heard out about ins and outs mate? Do you think they give a toss how many people renew next season? They will just keep on hiding by looks.

It doesn't bother them because they stand to lose nothing zilch zero nowt because they've put nothing in. They won't lose £6 Million the club will. If that puts the club in admin they lose nothing and no doubt would find a vehicle to buy it back debt free and no longer owing the Crynes a penny. Conway will stop at nothing remember he allegedly delayed the deal to buy the club originally to take advantage of PCs declining health and got the asking price reduced.

Well I never knew that they had not paid a penny to buy the club.
