Absolute game changer when he arrived and started banging the goals in. I thought by last few games of the season, he seemed to drop off performance wise, although opposing teams had started to work him out somewhat. Add to that, he always got the rough end of the stick from the refs as well due to his physique, all opposing defenders had to do was get near and fall down to win free kicks. Will be interesting to see if he can make the same impact at WBA.
Wonder how he will be received by the more experienced WBA lads,be a different vibe to our young dressing room he came into, least he got Mowatt there
It must be brilliant having premier league parachute money to dip in to. He needed extra fire power after his teams nil nil draw at Oakwell. No pressure Val.
Time will tell indeed. Can't see it though. He clearly suits Val's system, and he is a year older, a year of extra maturity. And he's going straight in to a successful, in-form team. I think it will very much be a repeat of last year, with him and Val linking up well.
I don’t think he dropped off towards the end of the season I just think that in the last couple of league games Mowatt was missing & we’d already made the play offs & then Swansea & Cooper knew how to beat us & obviously Guehi was superb in the play offs. I think his form would’ve carried on if we’d had Mowatt & then played a different side in the play offs.
