Another brilliant day of darts. This years world champs has been very good despite a few dropping out for covid.

Pace of darts is unbelievable these days some players just seem to get faster. Can’t imagine watching priestly taking 20 seconds to throw 1 dart any more

Brilliant games and nail biting at the same time especially when I’ve got money on Smith at 20/1 before tournament started.

Both matches tonight were incredible. Just a shame Smith won in the circumstances he did because of the fan that Price would have sorted out himself without the need for security.

Hope that Wade can win it so he can no longer be seen as the Jimmy White of Darts as the greatest ever player not to win the big one. If not him Wright because first time around he missed out on being called the champion of the world in front of packed crowds because of covid cancelling events and then behind closed doors when the Sport did return.

I don't think the idiot fan had any bearing on the result personally. The standard was amazing and continued to be so.
    • It's a mixed bag with the crowds, a culture has been created where they want them to het completely drunk and sit and sing football songs and often ignore the game. It's hardly surprising things spill out of hand. We had a huge section of the crowd calling price a "sheep Sh@$$€£" the other day.

He was shouting out as Price was going for Doubles. Smith mentioned it post match said he was shouting Smiths name and it was actually annoying him too.
Price stopped mid throw to go and remonstrate with the security to remove him.
I'd say a large section of the crowd are basically just people turning up to get drunk, its a night out and they have little respect for the players.

Same as cricket no one interested until they realised it was a full day on the ****
They dont even watch darts until first 3 darts go in treble 20 then they are booing when 4th misses.
    Just on the ****

I got smith at 14-1 just before last 16 matches. Only 3 quid on him. Just bit of a fun bet really. I put 2 quid on Anderson at 16-1 for daughter. Both could end up in final after today.

If Smith plays as anything close the level of last night I would expect him to beat Wade. Wright v Anderson could go either way. I think Wright is probably playing better but both can be unpredictable.

Loved that he stopped to get George Noble told then stepped back up to throw his last dart and he banged in treble twenty. Can't see Smith ever winning a world title. He's the nearly man of the sport, still seen as a prospect even though he's been around over a decade.

He's got a great chance of making another final and he's playing well enough. As always in the darts it's how you handle the pressure.

As a former amateur darts player of a certain age i hate the way that the game has gone regarding fans being allowed to behave like yobos' i also hate the way that the players go screaming around the stage when they win then shake their opponents hand as an after thought' bristow and wilson had an edge to their characters but they always made sure that the first thing they did after a win was to shake their opponents hand' all that said' the standard these days is incredible..

According to the interview with Michael Smith I've seen on YouTube the "he" who was shouting out was actually a "she". Not that that makes any difference.

I actually give Wade a better chance against Smith than Price as it will be more of a game of darts than a pantomime. Hard to split either semi-final IMHO!

Bully Boy is in the form of his life and if that continues he’s probably the one to beat but after saying that Wade is a very experienced player who on his day can beat anyone and will try to slow the game down .

Looking forward to what should be two exciting and hopefully close semi finals.

Bully boy may be in the form of his life but like Dave Chisnall, Ian White and previously Terry Jenkins, he's been a bottler when the pressure is on. It's all well and good pounding the treble 20 but if you can't hit doubles under pressure then you ain't going to win.
Smith will out score Wade and if he hits the doubles then should win. Wade will be steady away with the scoring but better on the doubles!

Smith has been around a while but hasn't won a major. He can't be considered a top player until he wins at least one major.

Going to be a lot of pressure on Smith tonight unlike yesterday when he was 2nd favourite tonight he knows he’s expected to win and that in itself could test his bottle .

Don't think Wade will slow the game down at all. He does what he has to do at his own pace regardless of who he plays. Any change of pace is purely down to the opponent.

Talking of the darts..... the Scot Alan Souter who just got knocked out is an honorary BFC fan. He comes to the pub when he's throwing at the Metrodome with his fellow darter and his manager. We've taken them to a couple of night games at Oakwell. Hes wore Manx Reds badge on his collar as we all chucked a few quid in for charity. Reyt nice blowk.
