Boland is lucky, every decent delivery he seems to take a wicket, it won't last. On the flip side, at times on this tour England's bowlers have been so unlucky. Dropped catches, beat the outside edge multiple times without any reward. Mark Wood has been excellent and his figures don't really do him justice. As poor as England have been, the Aussies have had a lot of luck.
Boland reminds me of Tim Bresnan. Will do a decent job for the side but nothing special. He’s on a lucky run at the minute and fair play to him but it won’t last.
That worked well. Can I raise you with Don’t fancy us betting well tomorrow morning to give us any chance in the afternoon …. 4 down by lunch unless rain intervenes
England cricket does not need 3 one day formats One day cup 20/20 The hundred Then we have Ecb contracted players chasing the big bucks of the IPL and the big bash. Money is killing the longer version of cricket. Long game batting techniques are dying and bowlings are getting a towelling
Trouble is, the longer that red ball cricket and the technique required is neglected, the more it will impact on the quality of our white ball game, and the hundred t20 will lose value.
Australia still odds against to win. Can't see us seeing out the day even with showers. We are playing to try and get a draw but batting that negatively usually goes against you. Our middle order are carrying knocks that will probably keep them out for the final test.
Sat here watching Stokes and Bairstow trying to see this day out. The former wincing with every shot, due to his abdominal strain, and the latter with a crook thumb. Great effort so far. Keep it up lads.
There’s not many balls that are genuinely unplayable, but that one from Cummins to Wood was one of them.
