Because Walton was an adequate replacement still think that after today's performance.

Jack Walton would be the least of our issues.

He was at fault for two today for me. He certainly wasn’t great, pretty poor.

But he’s not played, and has shown in the past with a run of games he’s ok. Certainly for league one. He’s not Collins - but he’s closer to championship standard than most of those in outfield shirts.

I wouldn’t write him off based on one performance.

Not would I but he was poor at Bolton too, opposition fans enjoying giving him stick cos his kicks were terrible at times.I'm sure he'll find his form again but to stay in this league or to hope to go straight back up we will miss Collins.

I don't want us to sell Collins. Fantastic keeper. But I have no problem at all with Walton.

All 11 were not good enough to wear the shirt.

I have to say...I have just seen the highlights and when I originally heard the comments that Ollie Banks' goal was "unstoppable" and a "Worldly" I accepted those opinions at face value (having seen some of his father's goals at first hand).

Now, having seen it... what was Walton doing? He lined up the wall leaving Banks with a clear sight of the right hand side of the goal and promptly went and stood on the left. Banks' shot was , in fairness a 'rocket' but he had no defending bodies in the way and did not have to do any 'up and over' or curled shot as there was a clear line of sight to the back of the net. For me Walton was 100% to blame for that as he is the one lining up the wall!
Can't really comment on the other goals as the...ahem... 'defenders' and midfielders in front of him did not exactly help:rolleyes:.
It just proved, IMO, how often our Number 1 keeper has regularly saved our blushes and several heavy defeats. With a decent midfield and defence I think more than a few clean sheets would have been had with Collins as last line of defence instead of our 'only' defence.

He will be sold, as will Woodrow, Andersen & Helik. Get used to watching Barrow every week. That is the future.

Much as I have lost any enthusiasm for supporting BFC whilst the current owners are still in charge, I can't see me switching my allegiance to Barrow FC at any time :)

LOL, I was meaning the standard. To be fair we had Warnock on the wing & Springett in the nets.

One suspects even if we played Barrow every week, assuming they kept 11 men on the pitch for 90 minutes, on that showing, over the course of a full season we would probably still end up below them in the league table:(

Bit harsh on Morris I feel. Only one who looked Championship standard based on the calm measured way he took his goal. I suspect a devoid of confidence Cauley would have blasted it (and probably missed on his current form)

Walton ha splayed plenty of games for us and writing him off after one performance is a bit silly.
Remember when Collins stupidly punched the ball away when he could have caught it and it led to the decisive Swanswea goal in the play off 2nd leg? All keepers make mistakes.

I would think the only other replayed apart from Collins who anyone would be looking on current form is Morris, think there’s a real danger he could go in this window surely?

Walton is a decent keeper. He has showed that in the past but he has hardly played in the last year due to the form Collins has shown. Give him a run of games and he will be fine. Especially in L1 next season. I don’t want to sell Collins but goalkeeper is the least of my worries in our team at the moment.

Yes, I take that back. Apologies Mr Morris, you are a bloody good footballer.

Walton would benefit from first team football (a loan spell at a league one club) would do him good, having hardly played for the last season and a half,it certainly showed yesterday.

I don’t think he’s good enough for the Championship. Not based on yesterday just generally. He might be ok for League 1.

If your injury record was better you'd have been sold by now.
