It doesnt matter if we were trying to sign him in January or not dike wasn't a spreadsheet signing either. Radio sheffield and itk posters have said he wasnt signed based on "the spreadsheet"or "statistics" and lets be honest his career stats are poor he has had a career plagued with injuries and hes 27 in a few days somethings definitely gone wrong with the spreadsheet if he was getting highlighted on it.

Plus i never made anything up i was going off what radio sheffield said about the iseka and oulare signings and itk posters.

 

I might be missing something but why does when we tried to sign him determine whether or not he was a spreadsheet signing?

I think the implication is that it was PC panic buying this summer with Oulare and Leya Iseka after befriending a Belgian agent.

But if we tried to sign him in Jan (with Dane Murphy in situ) and at Val's request, that goes against that theory.

Myself, I'm not sure. I think many people get sold on a player by agents. It's their job after all, so not surprising

That’s because you are honest person. I suspect you wouldn’t continue to sign new contracts knowing that you wouldn’t fulfill them.

 

Murphy said that we'd be able to sign Dike within our usual transfer fee, Schopp said Oulare and Iseka couldn't play when they first arrived due to not being fit. Our new CEO said the West stand was unsafe for the season, I'd take these things with a large pinch of salt!

 

I would suspect there is probably an element of truth in both statements.
He was identified and approached under DM tenure and did turn us down and was signed whilst PC was playing CEO.
The question I would have thought is did the Medical team pick up on any concerns and if so we’re they listened to or over ridden.

 

I doubt that he knows he can't fulfill them. When you have a medical and that medical says you're fine then sure you'll always have niggly doubts but you trust that professional assessment of your fitness.

 

I have to say I’m surprised that you take such a sympathetic view of it. Depends I suppose on whether one thinks the continuous round of injuries are genuine or not.

 

Our very own Beth also said she wouldn't let her family go in the West Stand,do we take that with a pinch of salt also?

Not personally no, but most of us may well disagree with our boss but have to keep our own counsel. The fact remains that people were in the West stsnd for the duration of its closure, including some in the seats of season ticket holders!

 

You do the lady a disservice if anybody born called a spade a spade thats Beth.

 

Did she say the west stand in general or the upper tier alone? Because I'm yet to hear what the safety issues were preventing the opening of the 25 year old lower tier. It can't be that there was a hole in the floor of the 100 year old upper tier behind it as they're separate structures.

 

I can categorically guarantee you there are no Conway lovers on here, as much as you so desperately want there to be

 

Or what safety issues have been rectified because nobody has been sighted with as much as a roll of sellotape in the last 6 weeks.

If I'm CEO, I make sure that there's plenty of photo opportunities of contractors messing about and making it "safe" and social media is blanketed with updates and positive spin regarding repairs.

Instead we've had nowt, and mysteriously it's open again.
