STOKE CITY CLASH POSTPONED Fixture News Barnsley Football Club's upcoming fixture with the Potters has been postponed following a meeting with the EFL board this morning. Continue reading on the official site...
Relieved to see this. Our Covid hit seems to be coming after those clubs who had it over Christmas, so it's good to see that we're now getting the same benefit. The more time we have available to work with the squad (well, those who are available, at least) the better as far as I'm concerned. It's effectively giving us the benefit of a quasi-International break that we missed out on taking so long to appoint Poya.
I was just going to ask why it wasn't available on the red button Seemed odd a game that was originally going to get the full Sky coverage wasn't even available on the red button.
RUBBISH! PLAY THE KIDS! ITS WHAT THE U18S IS FOR! RUBBISH! HOW COULD WE GET A TEAM ON SATURDAY AND NOT TODAY! SHOULD BE MADE TO PLAY! Etc etc.
Let’s be honest this is a good thing because if we had to field a weaker team than last Saturday against Stoke this Wednesday god only knows how many goals we’d concede.
It's good news if like me the only thing you're clinging to is that there are 22 games. I've a faint hope that we'll bring in some players. So any games that could be postponed will be met with glee from me.
Wouldn’t surprise me had Saturday’s game been a league game we would’ve applied for it to be called off, judging by the number of young ‘uns on the bench.
Did COVID have the weekend off? I know there were different rules for the FA Cup games, but none of the League 1 and 2 games were called off either.
It's ridiculous when you see all those Swindon fans slavering all over each other after scoring v Man City.
Reckon the Stoke game is off because we want to play it when we've got all our January signings in the building..........maybe
Or, it’s because Covid and injuries have hit us hard, looking at the bench on Saturday that would be feasible
12 players injured/covid. Leaving us with about 12 fit. Rule is 14. So EFL determined we can’t fulfil the fixture. Don’t see much of a change by the weekend either.
