You did so knowing that if the party you voted for gained enough seats it meant Boris Johnson would be the prime minister of the country.

How do you feel about your vote now knowing that the racist, sexist, homophobic bigot who is in downing Street right now is there because you supported him? Do you feel ashamed when you read the multiple stories of his disgraceful behaviour? Do you feel guilt that you helped to give him the power to behave as he as? Do you wish you had voted in a different way?

Lots still won't care. Never underestimate the passivity/stupidity of the public.

Oh and in before "but Corbyn".

It's simply a question. One which very few of his voters will have the balls to answer honestly

I'm reading 'Churchill's Shadow' - an astonishing life and a dangerous legacy. Geoffrey Wheatcroft.

Well worth it. Shows how Johnson has modelled himself on the real man in the hope of becoming the myth.

Without wishing to second guess too much

they knew he was all of those things before they voted for him. :)

What they perhaps didn’t grasp, is that in order to ‘get Brexit done’ he’d have to raise their taxes, empty supermarket shelves, that we’d risk war in N Ireland, the death of the fishing industry and massively increased fuel bills.

They didn’t know he’d openly laugh in their faces whilst he did all these things, they possibly didn’t realise he really didn’t care a jot, about anyone but himself and his millionaire mates.

Didn't William Haigh used to wnak himself daft over Churchill too (when he wasn't wnaking himself daft over Thatcher)?

The party thing though minor in itself speaks volumes. Wherever we stand on Covid and it’s mitigations last year when they were partying on my auntie didn’t get to say goodbye in person to the guy she had been married to for nearly 50 years as he lay dying in hospital based on abiding by the rules while those ***** did whatever they wanted.

Whilst he seems to be hell bent on doing anything he can to make himself undefendable, and we mostly believe he is a bafoon of the highest order

the sad fact remains - if not him, who else could have got us out of the pre Bexit stalemate in whic we found ourselves.

Also despite all that can easily be said against him - if not him who the hell is there that can realistically lead us forward.

In any other time he would have been long gone. But as we are at the moment I think we are stuck with him.

The job of PM is a complete poisoned chalice. Who else could have led the country over the last two years. Talk about a rock and a hard place - in the political vacuum in which we live the likes of our Boris may sadly be our only option. The labour Party has a lot to answer for being totally inept and incapable of putting forward a viable and a strong opposition at at time when we most need one.

Exactly. Our opinions on restrictions are poles apart but for the most part I have stuck to them and been sensible (I know I'm shocked too). The fact that those making the restrictions in the first place have been laughing in our faces is a disgrace. Whilst lives have been ruined they wee getting pissed

In answer to all your questions. Many people. It is a shorter list who could have done a worse job than who could do better

It is not only Johnson that is a disgrace to this country but the numbnuts he has gathered around him, Rees- Mogg, Maggie Throup, Dominic Raab, David Davis, Mark Francois, Liz Truss, Thersa Coffey, Edward Leigh, Nadine Dorris, Alexander Stafford, Miriam Cates, Desmond Swayne, Andrew Bridgen, Chris Grayling, and Profesor of talking out of his arse Michael Fabricant. There isn't 1 ounce of common sense or any sort of decency that these individuals have and yet they help to make the rules we all have to abide by.

In which the rabid right wing of the Tory Party put us in? Is that what you mean? The stalemate occurred because even the more rational Tories had to acknowledge the lies the party had sold to the public could never be carried through.

So yes you're right. We're stuck with them. Onward. To the bitter end. Makes me feel proud to be British.

OK. Who else could, or even can, command a majority in the Conservative party?

Who could summon up enough support in the Labour Party to stop it tearing itself apart and have the charisma to win over the country in an election?

So who else is there who could lead the country? Like I said - a rock and a hard place!

I got sent out of class (at Wath Comp) when the teacher once addressed us by stating we were following in the footsteps of great former pupils, "like William Hague" and I said "a f***** Tory".

    True story.

Literally anyone. My cat could to a better job. Brexit is a disaster. 150000 people are needlessly dead. Johnson will be ditched by the tories by the end of the year because the idiot has fooled enough people with GEt bReXit Done.
