I would advise that simplicity is best on this. As you can imagine a lot of questions cover similar subjects so we take the list and merge them in to topics. The punchier and more simplified the question is the easier it is to use that question to 'headline' that topic.
Not a single question wasn't asked of Dane at the last one. Did you see it? We asked him if it was true that Paul Conway was expensing his flights in for games!
On this subject, a simple question won't necessarily cover the multiple issues, but we'll see how it goes. If you're planning on having topics, then a specific topic of the £750k issue would allow several separate question to be asked of him, presumably?
But you've also only got about an hour so you want to cover as many topics as possible. I think the level of detail you'll be asking, based on your knowledge and expertise, probably needs a whole hour in itself with Paul Conway!
I think its important that he is first allowed to report with answers he said he would glean later as he didn't know the answers at the time they were posed to him. If he hasn't found the answers or been blocked from doing so, that raises subsequent questions. In terms of new topics (and personally, I'd focus on getting answers to the biggest issues rather than covering every disparate question), the most important series of questions should be in terms of how we finance next season if/when we are relegated.
If Khaled says "I've been instructed by the owners not to answer that question" or similar... will we accept that? Perhaps issues around buying the club with it's own money should e the first question and no one should ask a different question until that one is answered.
Not if the CEO has done the basic bit of research that was required of him after the last meeting. The expectation left after that meeting was also that we wouldn't still be waiting for an answer 2.5 months later.
My question is: How successful has the dictat of changing playing style been in achieving the desired outcomes?
Actually, I think the salient points on the issue can be covered within 2 questions: 1) Does he now accept that the details of the text message he read out at the last Q&A were factually incorrect regarding the £750k payment and can he confirm that the details in the published accounts regarding the £750k debt were accurately stated within them? 2) Assuming so, can he confirm whether or not the £750k paid on behalf of BFC Investment Company Ltd has, or will be, repaid to Barnsley Football Club Limited and can he provide an undertaking that no further transactions of a similar nature will be made in future? Past, present and future regarding this covered in 2 questions that he can easily get the necessary information from Robert Zuk or any other relevant party well in advance of the meeting. Happy for anyone else to dissect, review and feed back any suggestions to simplify this further, whilst still trying to get a comprehensive response on the issue.
We've just sold Callum Styles to Celtic and Callum Brittain to Stoke City so it's been a massive success.
We don't all have to agree with the 'Conway Out' supporters. The name alone puts me off it; aren't the group wanting FULL change? As for the Q&A, I believe supporters should be given the opportunity; just think the group will use it as the first opportunity to make themselves known (and heard).
I'd edit Q2 to something like.... 2) Assuming so, can he confirm whether or not the £750k paid on behalf of BFC Investment Company Ltd has, or will be, repaid to Barnsley Football Club Limited, can he provide an undertaking that no further transactions of a similar nature have been made since the May 2020 financial accounts and that no further transactions will be made in future? Saves us waiting for the May 2021 accounts to find out if further monies have been withdrawn.
The comment wasn’t meant to be a reflection on the askers, purely the fact they want the questions in advanced (which I accept is mainly for efficiency) means if there is a subject they don’t want to discuss, it won’t be. Equally that doesn’t mean I’m saying they will deliberately avoid any subjects, just that I wouldn’t be surprised if some didn’t come up.
2) Assuming so, can he confirm whether or not the £750k paid on behalf of BFC Investment Company Ltd has, or will be, repaid to Barnsley Football Club Limited and can he provide an undertaking that no further transactions of a similar nature have been made, or will be made in future?
I'm hoping the role doesn't come with the expectation to provide 'fringe benefits' along with the secretarial skills though.
