The answer is at least one more (Cummings leaving party). Please note that the person who this party was for is now the deputy editor of the Sun - who also had a lockdown busting party last Christmas. This may or may not have been on the night of the CCHQ party that ended in a disciplinary after someone broke a door.

And still Cressida Dick won’t investigate her mates

Remember the Scottish CMO had to resign for visiting her second home. And the Met prosecuted hundreds possibly thousands for breaches

But this lot of entitled buffoons just don’t care.
As for the MET not investigating it’s a disgrace

I just can't get my head around this at all. There were loads of fines. There was constant messaging from multiple quarters to stay at home, to not travel, to eliminate anything non essential.

Yet first and foremost, Downing Street continued to ask people to come in when they didn't need to. It's been repeatedly asserted by sources that distancing wasn't a thing. Bubbles were non existent and just about any precaution that the rest of us assumed was largely ignored. It's little wonder the speed it ripped through that place and Westminster. But the really galling thing is that Downing Street is probably one of the most policed buildings in the country with officers permanently on site, with cctv abound.

DePfeffel has to go, and he will, once he's inflicted a bit more damage on the tory brand, and Cressida Dick shouldn't be allowed to be around much longer either.

This from a QC seems to hit the nail quite firmly on the head

A couple of points on this which are mentioned by virtually every legal commentator I have seen
    1. Sue Grays inquiry is an internal enquiry not an independent one - she is investigating her bosses boss
    2. The terms of reference were set by the PM the very person being investigated
    3. It doesnt have the power to accuse anyone of criminal behaviour
    4. It has to be approved by the Prime Minister ( the suspect!!) before it can be released
    5. It is already being leaked to the press it will find naughty japes rather than criminal behaviour

Dick knows it cant find criminal behaviour so its her excuse for not investigating

The Police are supposed to be politically independent but in the case of the Met at least they actually look more like the private police force of the Tory party

I find it hard to believe just how much damage Bozo has done to the country in just 2.5 years. I would say I told you so but he has been somehow even worse than I predicted

Tricky area of law, but upon further research it appears the earlier lockdown regulations were made under the authority contained in the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984. The time limit for prosecutions outlined in section 64A is three years, save where a FPN has been issued and remains unpaid after 28 days, when the time limit for prosecution will effectively be six months. As no FPN's were issued in respect of the Downing Street parties then the three year period applies and proceedings could still be commenced.

There is therefore no earthly reason why the Met should not now be investigating these potential offences, especially given the significant degree of breach of public trust which potentially appears to attach to them.

I've got to say, I expected it to be worse, with Cummings pulling the chains of DePfeffel. For whatever reason, and its probably quite a base thing given DePfeffels craving for skirt, he sided with Symonds and thankfully Cummings was offloaded.

Johnson isn't bothered by what he does with power. He'll take plaudits for anything as long as he gets plaudits. It's quite pathetic really. The dangerous thing is that leaves him wide open to being manipulated and pushing through things that gain him plaudits or donations or trappings of wealth for others who have more sinister motives.

This investigation is another sham. Even when people have been found guilty he's ignored or downplayed the findings and what we've seen under him is just how difficult it is to get rid of the PM if the governing party has a majority with little morality.

Somebody other than the tories desperately need to get their hands on the levers of power and be as ruthless in building processes and laws that protect the people and democracy as much as the tories have been in dismantling and neutering them.

If a normal business held these parties, there's absolutely no way a Police force would wait until the respective businesses HR department had done their investigation before deciding whether they would begin their criminal investigation.

    Its absolutely madness.

Also surely a suitcase was checked at the gates at the end of Downing Street as it was taken in, otherwise WTF!

'Heavy suitcase mate? Do you want a hand taking it in?'
'I promise it isn't a bomb or owt, or a sniper rifle'
'I never thought it was. In you go mate, where are am I taking it?'
'Just head to the loud music bruv'
'Ok Sir, have a great night'
    'Pleb'

I see the Good Law Project have threatened the Met with a judicial review if they fail to investigate the Downing Street parties.

You can see why the government want to ban these pesky judicial reviews that they keep falling foul of, can't you?

Don't really know much about the Met or Cressida Dick, but is she a Tory installation?

She's not been in post that long, think it was under Theresa May she got the job.

She did have a short spell working for the Govt Foreign Office in some capacity before going back to the Met and shortly after getting the top job at the Met.

There was a lot of criticism about her dealing of the de Menezes shooting, but was cleared of personal wrongdoing.

Sadiq Khan isn't a fan of hers, though has publicly supported her and there was a bit of pressure for her contract not to be renewed when it lapsed pretty recently, only for dePfeffel to give her a two year extension.

Seen a few people saying similar things, and I used to work at the HQ of a major building society - every Tuesday we'd rock up with suitcases on the way there, and every Thursday on the way home - with others on the other days. Basically anyone on public transport who was staying overnight in a nearby hotel. I never heard of anyone being searched, and from what I've read this is the same at Downing Street, Whitehall, Parliament or the Scottish or European Parliaments too. Once you have a security pass, you can take in whatever you like...

As far as I am aware, and I’ve worked in many large corporate HQs, there’s not a boat load of Armed or Anti Terrorism Police knocking about to do searches or guard the entrances.

Call me crazy but I think there's a big difference between the officers of Barnsley building society and the entrance to 10 downing Street

Only insofar as the government strictly stick to anti terror guidance.
So once you’re security checked and have a pass for the level of building you’re entering*, then the only chance you’ll get your bags checked is:
If the threat level in the country is raised to the highest level
Or if specific intelligence is received about you.

    * And I’d presume that Downing St is at positive vetting level, so the fact you’ve got a pass means you’re a very low risk.

Be a cover up inquiry , it’s a bit like me investigating my boss . And then submitting it to my boss for him to have first look at it

I didn't know Sue Gray was conducting an inquiry. Rishi should have mentioned it instead of backing his boss.....
