Doesn’t need the money, coming from a different perspective rather then the typical political route of expensive education and oxbridge. Just what we need more people from unconventional backgrounds to shake this sht up. I’d vote for him.

Can you imagine if he was? Every PMQ's I'd be thinking about the none penalty against Andy Liddell.

    Lol.
There are many MP’s not come through the normal political route. (Eg studied politics at uni) Actors/Actresses.
**** me that b’std Jeffrey Archer became/is a lord. With his background I’d have made put him in HMP for life.

We get the PM and the government we deserve. The way people follow dog whistle politics, is it surprising we have got the worst PM and a government similarly lacking in gravitas in a very long time. Politicians have been on a downward trajectory for a very long time.

    No of course not.

It's just that he never came across to me as the sharpest knife in the box. Probably more intelligent than the current incumbent though, not a high bar to get over like....

“can I ask the prime minister to confirm that he did foul Andy Liddell in the penalty area at old Trafford?”

“the truth is mr speaker that the prime minister thought he could get away with it. He had no regards for the rules, no respect for the Barnsley public and no remorse for such blatant cheating”

In the England set up as a player he was known as Red Nev, due to his constant campaigning for the players rights.
If I recall rightly he was the one who organised a ballot for the players to vote to strike due to the way it was felt Rio Ferdinand was treated over his failed drugs test.

Gary Neville also thought he was capable of breezing off to Valencia to become a successful coach/manager.

    That went well.

He sometimes talks tosh when he's commenting on games too. So I'm not so sure it's a back of the net winner to let him loose with the care of the interests of the public.

What about Gazza? Or Joey Barton? Perhaps they're ineligible due to criminality.

    Paul Merson perhaps.

He's only joined the party hasn't he?
I disagree with some of what he says bur tbf he s capable of putting his point across succinctly which is a good start.

If him going for Mayor of Manc, speeds up Andy Burnham returning to the mainstream and in contention for party leader, I'm all for it.

Agreed. Andy Burnham has been a huge loss to the parliamentary Labour Party.

The "we" doesn't include me. Those who voted Conservative may well have got the government which they deserve. I, like millions of others, do not belong to that group.
