We paid a record fee for a non league player , I don’t know wether he was any good or not only thing I remember is Gridlet playing for Southend against us in last game of the season , he threw his shirt into the crowd at the end only for the fan who caught it to throw it back at him
Good shout. People have mentioned a lot of rubbish in this thread but they were low risk signings. Oulare cost us a fair bit on both the transfer fee and his wages so is the worst BFC signing mentioned in this thread.
It depends whether you mean objectively the worse player, or maybe the one who contributed the least for money spent on them. I'd put Hristov and Hume at the top of that list, and now Oulare. Special Mentions for Tom Kennedy and Pearson for England as well.
I think Mido takes some beating in these stakes. There was clamour for ages to give him a game.... then we saw him and we knew why he hadn't been given a game. I seem to recall many thought it was a play as you pay deal or on extremely nominal wages, until it was leaked his wages were pretty hefty. Oulare may be a bad signing to date, but the Mido one was just bonkers.
I was gonna mention Hume , admittedly he got injured , but as it turned out a bit of a waste. Mosto was awful too , also Ratshit the other Hungarian was awful too , but I think he may have been a loan so not so much waste if so.
I was just going on value for money club record fee and struggled to get a run always a back up player really.
Kransmuller was here for 6 months and we sold him and re couped our money. Schmidt if the rumoured 1million pound fee is true its a awful signing. Like i say at a time when the best footballer in england and the best england striker in my lifetime was going for 15million and we paid 1.5 million for hirstov and his wages and he was always a back up player it wasnt money well spent. I was going on value for money and it was poor really.
There are some players that might have come good if given a proper run. Hristov, Mossto, Christensen, Silva, Knasmullner, Mallan. We'll never know. I don't blame Mido for that debacle either. Totally the clubs fault. He'd have been a great signing if they'd have got him fit.
as it stands I'd have to say oulare is looking up there. while Frimpong and Mido were proper $hite for us, they didn't hang around long or cost us too much money. if it's true that he's on 7k a week, he's absolutely rinsing us
