He said that one case is against Barnsley Football Club, and that the club is paying its own costs in that regard.

It's interesting that the west stand has gone from it was usnafe and HAD to be closed to "we probably should"

Also interesting that he finally admits that it was because of the amount of stewards required and it was an operational decision which is why the council deemed it safe but the club closed it.

This guy has been our CEO since July and, in that time, I’ve seen zero evidence to suggest he’s remotely qualified for the position.

Thanks to everyone responsible for putting this together.

He comes across as so completely out of his depth that it's embarrassing. All he says is it wasn't me, I don't know, in hindsight i should have asked, you'll have to ask, we are a small club, be lucky for what you've got.

    Worst CEO in memory

Paul Conway was very clear to me in September press conference the case is BFC Vs Crynes holding company. Which again does mean the Chronicle statement doesn't make a lot of sense (unless there are two cases and its a bit of smoke and mirrors)

    Yes I clocked that.

But I would like everyone to listen to it again, and I've read all comments in this thread before saying it in case I've misinterpreted it....

The court case, which he couldn't go into. He also inferred that it was also to clarify whether future payments could be made from the club........

    Mmmmmmmmmm

    Did I completely misread that?

Trying to remember the words, but I think at one point he didn't know exactly where the problem areas in the stand were, then moved on to "but the problems weren't in the middle bits where the directors sit"

    Or something.

That's what I thought he said too. Didn't know where they were. Oh but they definitely weren't in the places we had a a hundred people dotted around. Farnham reds seat was definitely not in an affected area oh but it might have been but it wasn't but it may be

Operational was the key word. As CEO I would have the dates and figures of any expert diagnosis and any remedial work taken during the closure of the West stand.

It has been really poor Helen. Martin one of the visually impaired fans is part of the supporter's trust committee and he's had a horrendous time. There was initially an issue with the existing system post covid. Then the system they got to replace was based on wifi that just didn't work (I tried it multiple times in case it was just a case of user error). They have had people trying to help him but it's only recently they've gone some system with a receiver working that has to be picked up and returned to the club. Last game he was waiting around as there was no one available to give it to. In the FA Cup game, he arrived and there was no commentary (ironically like most of the games he been to this season).
He is almost completely blind. A real-time commentary is how he enjoys the match he's paid for (like he has for years). It really needs to go back to the club buying an FM replacement for the one that has worked for 20+ years that's tried and tested with cheap ear pieces or use of an FM radio to get the commentary. I think there are some FM licence issues that have to be sorted which I guess is the issue and the CEO did agree to review in the summer.
At one point Martin was returning his season ticket. He'd had enough. He was really upset. (obviously a number of people like myself, Hicksy and Alan have been trying to help in various ways)

I'd have thought FM commentary like they have for cricket and snooker matches I've been to would be perfect. Sometimes older, simpler systems do the job better.

On this one. He's got the answer - it's just not one we like.

If he's been told by Paul Conway and James/Jean Cryne that they're all in agreement that the £750k was agreed by all parties as a promotional bonus to be paid by Barnsley FC, it's up the Cryne Family to clarify whether this is true (as it contradicts their own statement back in 2019). We then have to accept the payment is above board from an ownership level, but make our feelings known to 100% of the ownership how we feel about it.

In terms of hard pressing follow ups to that we really need Paul Conway to be the one getting the questions. In my opinion.

Well i think the "The Club" have issues with the terms of the deal based on the situation with the covenant on the land they had the option to buy (and the state of the stadium) so they are arguing the additional costs shouldn't be paid. If they are successful presumably the club won't pay them.

Paul Conway was CEO from July to September.

Khaled has been here four months.

He didn't do anything in December but something every month so far. It's not that disingenuous, especially as there's also an update from him in all the match day programmes but our games have been cancelled.

The problem is that Paul Conway is in hiding.
