Well I wouldn't expect him to just lay into them but I'd want him to be honest. Frankly some of the players do need a bit of a slagging off. No individual names but as a collective it would do them good to hear home truths

Tbh I think we’ve got picking the ball out of our own net down to a tee , it’s almost an art form .

Defence?......your opinion but I everyone that knows anything about the situation realises it’s midfield where we are so sadly lacking!

    Isn't it all over?
Williams and kitching are an awful combination. Our midfield doesn't exist.

When we are conceding goals left right and centre I will criticise the defence but will include the midfield in that as they are paid to defend

I don’t know how you manage to maintain any semblance of optimism. Relegation is an absolutely certainty and I for one am seriously worried that we will fall straight through to division two next season. I just can’t see what there is to prevent it.

So why when we were losing did the turnip sorry swede bring on a poor centre half to replace a midfielder when we had midfielders and attackers on the bench. He's so out of his depth it's Schopp MK2. Somebody at the club as obviously decided that Moon is the next John Stones and he must be played, sadly Moon isn't and all they are doing is potentially ruining the lads career.

I have nothing against the guy, so won't slag him off. He is quite possibly a decent person who is trying to do a good job.
What I would like to have been was a fly on the wall at his interview. The crap he must have been fed probably beggars belief, no doubt very similar to the crap given to his predecessors.
Sadly he now has the haunted look of a man who wishes he was somewhere else, anywhere else. Certainly not Barnsley.
I feel sorry for him and anyone working under the current regime. It's not his fault, he is a pawn being shovelled around, probably until he reaches breaking point, says something out of place and away he goes.
    Rinse and repeat.

The one thing I did spot after Moon had come on, which I've never really noticed previously, is that we started using him as our long throw guy. Based on what I saw, he's far more effective at this than Frieser, who could barely reach the penalty area, but seemed to be the long-throw 'weapon' that we used earlier in the season.

I guess it's not something you can do as easily playing as a central defender, but I did wonder if that's something we've identified more recently.

In itself, it wouldn't justify him starting in midfield but in fairness to him, he didn't look any worse playing in midfield yesterday than the player he replaced. However, Hondermarck would have been the player I'd have turned to first, based on what I've seen from both of them in that role so far.

I’m far from optimistic. I think we’re relegated and the actions in the Summer have set us back 3-5 years when we had the chance to really solidify our status as a Championship club.

But you can think that and still have an open conversation about things that have improved or got better. And improvement doesn’t have to mean it’s good - the bar was set pretty low in those first 10 or so games.

Stole my thunder. He brought Moon on to give us more opportunities at getting the ball in the box. Some might have preferred Hondermarck, others might think Moon and the long throw makes sense.

Either way, it’s hardly evidence of him being Schopp V.2 and doesn’t really justify posts calling him a turnip. In my opinion.

I agree with this. We've managed to do this to two head coaches in little over half a season, which is quite the achievement.

Bringing Devaney into the match day setup feels less about increasing the linkage between 1st team and U23s, as claimed, as it is about trying to give more in-game support to a coach who appears to be struggling with the demands of the role.

This isn't a comment on Asbaghi but if our best option is to bring on someone who can throw the ball into the box because we haven't got anybody who can actually kick it in....then the cause is well and truly lost.

Yesterday is probably a special case though right, given we only had 14 players training during the week.

It’s hardly Stuart Pearce sticking David James up front, and with Helik and Madds being able to launch the ball in from just a throw in is useful if you’re chasing the game

**** me if we are bringing on poor centre halves to play in midfield because he can throw the ball farther than the midfielder because that's the best way we can get balls into the box we really are scrapping the bottom of a really deep **** filled barrel

I wonder how many Premier League games Rory Delap would have played had he not had a long throw. He played 359 games in the premier League.

To be fair to Rory Delap there was a bit more to his game than an ability to chuck a ball longer than anybody else. Moon in midfield I'm not so sure.

I'm not having a go at Moon or anybody else Jay, just the fragile nature of the straws we now seem to be clutching.
