Probably only players on a 6 month loan deal so they don’t have to deal with League 1 next season but could potentially put themselves in the shop window for other clubs in the summer. Unless we buy to prepare for League 1 next season and sign some of the better players from mid-table League 1/high end League 2 teams right now.
People who think it’s a step better than what they’re currently at. Unfortunately, being bottom of the league will only attract paydays, youngsters and those who are playing at the likes of Morecambe (Cole Stockton). That’s with all respect to Morecambe as well. This January will be a shocker.
It’s already a shocker. Little over a week to go, in the fix we are in and we’ve signed………… and ………. , not forgetting………..
You’re absolutely right. I didn’t realise how bad it was until I saw that bench yesterday. The board is inept, manager out of his depth and the CEO doesn’t know what day it is. Frustrating thing is, we were an experienced manager and a couple of good signings away from getting out of this mess. And when I say experienced, there’s plenty in our budget who would jump at the chance to work at Oakwell.
Any player with serious championship ambitions will stay well clear of us so for me we should target players who can do a job for us in Division one next season unfortunately this season is over.
It doesn’t really matter if anyone is willing to sign for us. They are not signing anyone this window. They have gone past caring. The only way we will see a signing this month I reckon is if we sell Styles and Helik
Derby managed to sign players during the summer under a wage cap and only on short term contracts when they couldn't guarantee they'd be in existence to the end of the season and those players have helped overhaul a 21 point deficit on us in just over half a season. The players we need are out there the club just have to want to sign them sadly there's little evidence they do.
Wonder if we could bid for accrington chairman , what he's achieved at that club on the budgets he has to work with is short of a miracle .puts those in charge at oakwell to shame that includes the 80% mob and the 20% gang .
I have been banging this drum for a couple of months now & I will say it again , there is absolutely no chance of staying up this season, just accept we are down & use what is left of this window to prepare for league 1 next season , try & bring the better players from the lower leagues & steel a march on our next seasons competitors, also if we can shift some of the deadwood it would help but I realise that is easier said than done
Well the coach isn't bothered he says it's not his job. Which we know technically is right but surely he should be bothered who he is getting and losing
