It's same for the whole division. Very little money being spent or transfer deals happening even in the loan market. Because of covid clubs are too skint to buy or don't want to be left short with Omicron about. It will be terrible if we don't bring in 2-3 players by the end of the window but worry more if we were the only club not bringing anyone in. Our better players people expected to be sold this month are still here as well.
Can't grasp the negativity on here, we've recalled 2 loanees from Denmark in Wolfe and Winfield, that's effectively 2 new signings right there, best window ever, maybe.
Butterfield who's been involved in six games so far for St Johnstone and lost all six and drawn a blank in four of them. He was never the answer. We are desperate but not that desperate.
Jacob Butterfield would have been a Smart Price Matty James. I'd have been begging him to sign up for the rest of the season.
I couldn't say that with any real conviction as I haven't seen him play well at this level for a long time. I have seen him just as many times as you though. I get the argument for his experience being used, but it's not a slam dunk he improves us in midfield or is the midfielder we're lacking. Understand why some supporters would think so. My point being that shows how badly we've dropped the ball in midfield.
If we were struggling so much we new center midfield was the main struggle bring kane back. But no we sold out for a few thousand. Neglect from the owners.
Would I have signed him... Yes. He'd show our midfield plenty more with his eyes shut. Not the player we would have wanted in a play off charge or long term, but considering what we have on offer right now it would and should have been a no brainer. If we are happy to loan the likes of Vita and Gomez and hardly play them, then at least a contract for 18 month would have been our player. Which would add to the argument of investment with the ability to guide the youngsters. In my opinion of course.
I'm hopeful but not expectant that we'll get a couple of quality out of favour experienced loans. We need to focus on trimming the squad before we sign any permanents. Schmidt, Thomas, Odour, Oulare and Palmer all need moving on to make way for more new gambles.
Mate I'm strictly a goalkeeper. Only to leave my box if there's a sweeper keeper like ball to challenge for and miss
Whilst I agree that we should have recalled Kane, I kinda get Khaled's point that him playing regularly in a team who's doing well will be good for him. I would have hoped we'd got someone lined up though before we made that decision. It does look pretty negligible. If there's any substance in the Jay Fulton rumours at all, and we manage to get him for the season, then I'll be happy, but I'm not holding my breath.
Im not holding my breath i dont think anyone with no resale value will be coming and i think we will lose at least one before the window ends my guess is brittain feel free to come back to this at end of the window
This time last Jan window 31 players signed by Championship clubs, 15 on loan, 10 for a fee 6 on a free. So far this window 25, 10 loan, 4 for a fee, 3 on a for free. Robert Snodgrass was one of the signings last Jan, not going to play again under Val, I'd take him for the rest of the season all day long.
