There’ll be bids for most of those players and they’ll most likely want to leave due to relegation triggering a wage cut.
And add this chant. " Where's the money gone, where's the money gone? Sung to tune of Chirpy cheap cheap.
Imo all of Collins, Andersen, Helik, Brittain, Styles, Morris and Woodrow (or their agents) will push for a move. Can't see they will be likely drop to L1 and accept a salary cut. And our owners will fall back on the "we only want players who want to be here" so if we get bids I think many of them will go. And as we need the money we'll accept bids at the bottom end of their valuation. That'd be all the quality gone and we'd face a massive rebuild. And as we know, we'll just buy youngsters. I think this scenario is more likely than the retain the quality and push on one.
You may be right. Time will tell. I just don't think it's League Two here we come, not yet. We've rebuilt before and we can rebuild again. And I'm not a happy clapper, head-in-sand blah-di-blah, I am a realist. But I suppose I'm an optimist too, it's built in.
When I first started going in 1960 we'd just been relegated to the third tier after spending most of the 50s as solid second tier. That time it took 21 years and two spells in tier four to rebuild enough to get back to tier two. If that happens again we won't be back in my lifetime.
Of all the stuff on here that just made me really sad. It will get better but only when there has been a change from the rogue traders.
That does put things in perspective. Thank you for that, I wasn't aware we were in the third and fourth tier for that amount of time. In your opinion do you foresee a double - maybe triple - relegation this time around?
Where's the money gone, where's the money gone? Cash reserves all gone, cash reserves all gone, Every penny gone, every penny gone, Seven fifty k Seven fifty k
I'd go for synchronised strongly worded letter. So at 3:15 we'd all stop watching the game and start typing up a strongly worded letter in opposition of the board of directors.
I am not so sure that there will be loads of bids for our players......most have been **** this time around and even after last seasons good performance they are still here!
I agree, we are in serious trouble, look at the number of teams who were in the Championship and even premier league who are currently stuck in L1 &L2. Currently 7 teams in L1 who were in the premier league at one time or another. Its going to be a seriously competitive league to try and get out of, and to rebuild our team and support staff is a huge task IMHO. We have a crumbling ground and uncertainty over ownership with court cases and other distractions, I only see further pain ahead I'm afraid.
