That's the point I'm making, they have been repeatedly asked via the CEO and just flat out ignored it. Something along the lines of "the Trust feels that this lack of communication from the ownership with regard to a number of unanswered questions is wholly unacceptable and disrespectful to the loyal fanbase of our club". I have no problem with the call for common sense tomorrow.
I think any true supporter, with the best interests of the club at heart, in the good times AND the bad, should join the trust. The closest thing that exists, at any club in the ladder, to a body that can get close to the club. Social media forums - BBS, TykesMad, Matchday Drinkers, Twitter, FB ........ etc ........ they are all well and good, but they are all just places where folk like me can vent their spleen, shout and ball every now and again, give praise every now and again and talk about stuff like Squirrel Porn. The real interests of the club should be served by the BFCST in my opinion. Genuine external interest would approach a body such as this more than it would a 'group' on any of the above. I'm not sure my membership has lapsed, but I will be checking and re-joining as I have been convinced that this is the best course due to events and feelings of the last few weeks. My re-joining will not stop me (and neither should it) spouting ****** and attempts at humour and banter on here, FB, Twitter and any other social media outlet. And those who think it is a clique with the likes of 'bell-end' Loko and Gally in charge need to know that it is far from that, and is more of a co-operative with the best interests of OUR club at heart. Nobody, from what I can see, is in it for themselves, or to gain kudos. To those who say it only exists so that a select few can get close to the club - here's a suggestion. Join, put a few hours in, contribute, and maybe you can get close too? And as a final point - it is clear that some fans have turned on each other from the safety of their keyboards. Loko is quite right that this level of feeling should not spill over physically on Saturday. Respect.
You don't need to apologise. I want you to go back to Oakwell as well. Nothing we can put out right now would satisfy all supporters, but we feel that right now and ahead of the weekend this is the best position to take. It's easy to say 'we want them out' but that doesn't happen overnight does it? If today's update read 'Leave Now' what would it achieve? If the supporter stance of wanting them to leave becomes overwhelming that's still a long process. And if you want your fellow supporters to feel as strongly as you do then you've got to bring them on that journey. Getting answers from those right at the top is your best way of achieving that as it gives accountability, transparency, and allows people to form opinions based on all the information being out there.
I would respectfully disagree. If they go in full pelt they run risk of alienating them and achieving nothing. This should be seen as an opening salvo, make it clear the positioning of the fans, have the meeting. Where it goes from there is key.
Loko, I'm not sure we do aggressive at Oakwell. If we put in a performance like we've experienced so far this season the biggest noise we'll hear is the sound of seats being returned to the upright position when folk leave early and in droves.
A respectful protest? Fans sat with their arms folded and shaking their head in disappointment. Something like that? That'll show em.
If you read my second comment on here I'm not suggest we go full pelt. I feel what has been said is much of what has been said already personally. Im not advocating pitchforks. Just a more forceful response in terms of tone. That is just my opinion.
Because that's exactly what that website article says. You can do better than that mate, please. Especially when respectful protest isn't even in the article.
I heard the second just as I was getting in my car at the Glassworks mult-story! The equaliser would have been as I was driving by the Sandwich stop.
What I don’t understand is what some fans think will happen by protesting. The only thing that will hurt these owners is lack of revenue, which in turn will only hurt the club. If Paul Conway does a Q&A is asked about the £750k and says that yes it was a payment taken from the club because with the ongoing legal dispute PMG are not willing to put in any more money to the purchase of the club until it is resolved, will anyone be happy then? It seems to me that the bottom line for most fans not vocal on this forum is where we are in the league, and what we’re doing about it. All other issues would be accepted (by most, not all) if we were where we were last season. This isn’t the first time Barnsley FC have made bad coaching appointments, signed dud players and stared relegation in the face. But it is the first time I remember that it happened off the back of a play off season the year before.
Agree with the statement. Keeps the lines of communication open, calls on fans not to go mental tomorrow. But on the 750k, which obviously won't go away, Titus is right in that they have been pressed. You asked the very question and Khaled said he would take it away and get an answer. A respectful response from Conway would have been to provide a suitable answer that is plain, simple truth. It didn't happen. Agree with your point about Conway being pressed on the other issues - I just hope he can at least afford the fans basic respect and be honest in his answers.
Leon has done an article on it already, so it was worthwhile purely from the perspective of getting the message out more widely about the situation. https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spo...nt-message-to-reds-hierarchy-and-fans-3545709
