We're not giving up!!! I mean, we have sold a decent multi-positional squad player to Hearts, and we are currently re-programming midfield potential to play at Centre-back, but aye, we ain't giving up.
No idea why we continue to make reference to him. It's not like he's a big miss cos he's just never played
Tough situation for Sibila to face questions, particularly from Giddings who isn't shy in asking probing questions. Thought he did pretty well, probably slightly more information and opinion than his immediate boss gives.
A couple of things. First, I would expect everyone to be giving 100% already. Second, treating everyday as day 0 is nuts unless no progress is being made. They need to focus on doing things smarter as well as harder. I think they really need to revise the way we're set up and the approach we're adopting. I don't think we had a corner against Forest - not surprising given the lack of width. No width, no opposition stretch, no space. No goals.
I didn't see all of the game against Forest (probably about half an hour or so in total) but its a fair point about being pretty narrow. We were trying to be more expansive though. The issue was we just give the ball away so easily in our midfield and front line. It then takes 2-3 passes to bypass our sloppy midfield and have a fast counter to defend. It's been the same all season, no matter what formation. We're just too easy to play against.
I agree with your summing up & I would also add that I was very disappointed with our stand in coach in the way he reacted as the game passed us by , it was obvious after half an hour that Williams was getting out numbered with Iseka not breaking sweat to help out & needed to be hooked or changes to the system but this did not happen, also when the team came out for the second half I looked to see who he had taken off & what changes to the dimension of the team he would make but alas none & then as the game went on I kept thinking surely we need to make some substitutions but he did nothing until about 12 minutes from time which by then was pointless , so to be honest I thought his game management was indeed very poor .
