Assumed this meant you want the owners out? Apologies if misinterpreted. The only little chance we have is that these supposed potential buyers are legitimate. I hope and pray they are
‘Kid’. Thanks. There were still 7k plus there today. That’s a majority being there, not a majority sat at home. And not everyone sat at home is doing so out of a boycott until the ownership group leave.
Well. just be careful. I go back and forth regularly and the border force have stamped my passport both in and out every time although thus will stop sometime soon. They know our movements though and I’ve read lots of stories on the various forums of people being denied entry at Alicante airport and others being fined for overstaying. The old days of Brits living under the radar are long gone. It’s Residencia or 90/180 - no one is exempt, and the financial requirements are ridiculous for a successful application. It’s certainly put us off and the house we bought three years ago is on the market.
I do agree it is ridiculous and your right with boarder force etc. Only way is to come and stay I think
I bought land in Spain in 2004 and had a house built by 2008. I've only lived in U.K. and France (between 2007 to 2017). I don't experience any problems when I go to Spain. I've been paying tax (equivalent of rates) for the house since 2008. I'm non-resident for income tax purposes. I suspect this doesn't help you however.......
If we came back to the UK, we would have to stay in the UK for 90 days. When we came I drove through France with the dog, there were no boarder checks whatsoever from France into Spain
But to apply for the NIE we had to to get our passports stamped so we had to fly back and forth to get passports stamped lol
Sorry but that’s not the only way. If they catch you you’re barred from re-entry, whatever your solicitor says. I own a home in Spain as well as my UK one, but that gives me less rights to stay indefinitely than the boat people crossing the Med. Maybe some time soon the Spanish authorities will offer the British a helping hand on the basis of “please stay and give us your money!” That makes more sense than “go home and don’t come back for three months”, and so on, and so on. But when were governments ever capable of doing the right, or sensible, thing?
The NIE is just a national identifier for foreigners, and it’s essential if you want to make major purchases like a house or a car. Our solicitor arranged those for us right at the start but they’re nothing to do with Residencia. It’s all massively complicated since 1 Jan 21 and most people who dreamed of retiring to Spain are finding its just too expensive, or downright impossible.
Why don't you ask your two mates and not me it's them that as moved there? Look forward to your reply. It might take time to get a reply so I'll keep bumping it up.
Moved there permanently, with Residencia in place? Or just bought a property and are subject to the 90/180 day rule? It’s all very complicated post-Brexit
I argue with Loko on a number of subjects. Regularly. He never makes himself look silly. Others however......
