Thereav will be in front row, just shouting abuse about the bbs. I think he’s more bothered about removing the bbs owners than the BFC ones :D

Almost every post he makes in that group is about us :D

You appear to be equating 'the facebook group' with those involved in the half time assault yesterday? That seems rather 'Daily Mail' to my liberal sensibilities.

There's a lot in there JD. Much of it imo inaccurate but we'll see in a few months time. I was simply making an analogy between those trying to do something (which is great to my mind) and those who are not - and asking for suggestions of a different/better approach.

I suppose I'm questioning the intentions of the facebook group as so much of it isn't transparent. I know they have distanced themselves from what happened yesterday in the club offices etc but I find it hard to take their word on it right now. I also think the spokespeople for that group are in an impossible position because of the pond life you undoubtedly attract with a group on Facebook. I'm not taking sides and want what's best as a fan. I believe a coordinated approach is the way forward. But it needs joining up. I also think keep lines of communication open with the club is important; I know we differ on that point. Regardless of our position as supporters, if a serious buyer is in fact in the offing, then it isn't just down to the club to state their position and say they want to sell, it is also imo down to the buyer to make him/herself known, step forward and state their intentions too. Then the fans at least have some hope in that there is a viable alternative.

I have read it again. You said "leave and put the club up for sale".

They can't do that, they'd have to sell the club first before they left.

Maybe I'm being a bit thick, can you explain it so an apparent simpleton like me can understand please?

I wouldn't agree the group isn't transparent, or rather it's no less transparent than any other group including the BBS. It's just a Facebook site - a vehicle for discontent. Removing the current owners will take far more than a few post - abusive or not - just like the BBS. The FB group can't be accountable for every crappy action that someone 'protesting' comes up with; neither can the BBS. One of the leading lights in yesterday's Teenage Rampage was a contributor to this site but, if anyone objected to his involvement, it can't be fair that the BBS is held responsible for his actions.

I respect your viewpoint in terms of communication/engagement with the current owners and thank you for respecting my opposite view. I agree with you about joining up but that is always going to be difficult when talking about a group of football fans, particularly at Barnsley where in my experience, some take a view to be contrary simply ....to be contrary.

I'm not buying into anything regarding a 'viable buyer' being in the wings. If it's there - great - but that's a bonus. The principle issue for me remains a statement of intent to leave from the current owners and to put the Club up for sale. I know that sounds like a long incremental approach but I do think we are in a for a long hard atrtional struggle here . There will be no quick fix.

There's only one place so far that has advocated protest. And with the general intelligence of some of our fans, then it's pretty obvious what they think protest means.

Especially when the face of the group seemingly wants to 'chuck' tins of food at those organising the food bank collection - a post that he has since deleted.

So yes I'll say it again for clarification. I'd bet the mortgage that those causing aggro yesterday are part of that Facebook group.

I will. You're misquoting me. Let me just copy my original post - underlining the relevant bit.

"What I'm after (at the moment) is a statement of intent from the owners to leave and put the club up for sale. That's it."

They are saying they will be leaving in time and as a consequence they are putting the Club up for sale to any buyers interested in purchase..

I think if you organise a "protest" unfortunately it will attract morons he said before he only wanted friendly protests cant blame him for peoples actions. I though when the ceo said he would advise peopke to not protest as it could have implications for the club was guilt tripping fans.

Forgive me but that is so inaccurate it needs calling out.

This site has advocated protest. I've been one of them! If the agrro you're referring to relates to the Office attack? That's not protest, it's assault. I've not heard anyone defending that.

If you mean the 'protest' at the bottom of the Ponty - There may have been facebook members on that; there were certainly members of the BBS. I saw three of them - put your mortgage on that. But....you can't hold the FB group or the BBS responsible for those actions.

Is someone going to take minutes for those of us who aren't going?
Failing that a description of the internal decor will suffice

Facebook group admin about fans protesting asks if he can throw things. Fans protesting throw things. Facebook admin immediately states he doesn’t know who they were. Then states they’ve got nothing to do with his group.. despite not knowing who they were.

Could you let me know what's inaccurate that needs 'calling out'.

The leader of a Facebook Group has advocated protest and indicated that he wanted to throw things.

As for the admin of the BBS? Two of them are involved in the Supporters Trust who have spoken with the CEO recently and are trying to organise a meeting with Mr Conway. They haven't replied to twitter posts from The Club to say they're throwing things, or posted a load of weird gifs. They're acting professionally.

If these people are members of the BBS then I hope hope read this because they're idiots. But as I said earlier, I'd put the mortgage on them being in the FB group.

It really wouldn’t make any sense for them not to be, would it? They’re angry enough at the club that they barge into someone’s office and start throwing lager at them but decline to join a group called ‘Conway Out’?
