I understand that the changes are sponsored by a consortium of insurance companies and funeral directors.
I don't think so mate, it's just a sensible step towards making drivers behave better and make our roads safer.

Well meant in all probability, but I can’t see it ending well. It’s no conciliation, when you’re visiting the cemetery, to know it was the car drivers fault. I hope you’re right, but I’ve been driving for 51 years and my entire being tells me this will end badly.
My wife had her driver's test the other day. She got 8 out of 10. The other 2 guys jumped clear. I gave up my seat to a blind person in the bus. That's how I lost my job as a bus driver.
