Are seriously splashing some cash. Cantwell from Norwich is a decent signing on loan tbf

Norwich fans were raving about him season before last. Seems to have just fell off the face of the earth. They've made some cracking signings today

Woodman, Phillips, Cantwell, Dembele and Moore. As well as trying to unsettle Rothwell at Blackburn. There’s an air of desperation about it.

Can understand them signing Phillips and Cantwell. But did they really need to sign two forwards?

"As a result of this new debt funding, amounts owed to its owners increased from £100m to £126.3m.

This was not enough to get Bournemouth through the season, with the club taking out bank debt of £16m, of which £9.9m is due in 2021."

Exactly - yet another example of an extremely rich knòb playing real life Football Manager, trying to buy "success". If he loses interest or patience, and jeopardises the future of the club...big deal, so what? Fans can always get #saveourclub trending.

I really hope they and WBA don't go up this year, because it would put them in deep do-do. Lets see Blackburn go up instead with Fulham and really **** on their chips.

A half decent side would have turned them over when they played us. They're in a really sticky patch at the minute, only 3 wins in 11 (including us) - It does seem like just throwing money at it to make it go away. I do think they are good signings for this league though, apart from maybe Dembele. bit of a weird one to me that one

Yep, and their fans will be lauding this transfer window. But if they don’t go up, it will catch up with them eventually.

Shows how bad a situation Newcastle are in that he apparently turned them down for a Championship club.

Is this true? I can't honestly see that. Scenario being, he joins newcastle on loan, plays a blinder, keeps them up. Newcastle spend X amount of money on him, and hes on mega wages. Not to mention Bournemouth arent currently pulling up any trees. The only way in which I see Cantwell picking Bournemouth over Newcastle is because Norwich didn't want him going to a direct relegation rival

I could be wrong, but I thought West Brom were one of the few clubs who weren't in debt?
Assisted with several years of parachute payments and sky TV money of course.

Pretty much, yes. It's also a bit contradictory from wakeyred, considering the 'do-do' that Blackburn are already in.

You are correct archey. They don't spend massive. They just spend more than us because they generate more.

I think they do spend a lot, wasn't it £15m for Karlan Grant? I think my point is, they're not sailing close to the wind, in the same way Bournemouth are if they don't go up.

As I said, 'apparently'. Just something I read yesterday, I'm not claiming to be Todd Cantwell's cousin or anything :D I suspect you are right, it's more likely that Norwich didn't want him to go to a relegation rival.

I don’t care about West Brom’s financials, it’s more because of Val taking all our staff.
