has to be the worst signing I can remember, in my 30+ as a fan. still not sure how much better off we'll be for this, as I'm assuming we're still paying a massive chunk of his wages
The worst ever signing in the history of the club. If all of a sudden he starts getting game time there, then that says it all, otherwise good luck to their physio staff!
Agreed, didn't want to sign for us previously and that should have sent alarm bells ringing, but no, Conman went and authorised this signing. He must have been shitfaced to sign off on this!! His playing record since 2013 is worse than Andy Carroll's!
I thought he might have come on against dem blades for the last 5 mins but might be misremembering. Absolutely bonkers bit of transfer business regardless though (signing him that is - persuading someone to take him on loan is probably one of the better bits of business we’ve done this window).
I bet we're covering the majority of his wages too. If he's on £7k per week then we're probably still paying 75% of that (£5,250).
He didn't play against Sheff U, as he was probably knackered after his 10 minutes against Boro' 4 days prior
Sportive Cell RWDM: “We are pleased to be able to integrate Obbi into RWDM's current project. Our goal is to get him back to full fitness on the pitch so that he can use all his abilities. He is loaned out for 18 months to give Obbi time to find his best level. We hope he can help us already this season, but the main goal remains to be able to start the 22/23 season with an Obbi Oulare who has 100% of his physical and technical capabilities and to make him a mainstay in our attacking comport” .
Was the sort of figure I had in mind as well. Schmidt and Thomas probably combine to a similar amount that we're paying, which would be 10k/week on players not even here.
Looking at that, if its true (and given they've put it in the public domain and gone into detail, I can't see why they would have made a mistake)... I wouldn't be surprised if they are paying anything for his wages this season.
How is he fit to play for Molenbeek but not Barnsley? Incidentally one of Conway's friends owns Molenbeek. Conway acted in an advisory capacity during the purchase. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/florida-financiers-buying-europe-soccer-050000963.html Edit: Ah...I see both my points have already been addressed. I typed the post out, then got distracted and didn't send it straightaway.
If he's injured, why are a club signing an injured player on loan? If he's not injured why did our coach say he was? I can't think of any benefit in claiming a player is injured when he isn't but then I can't think of any benefit in signing an injured player on loan. Only thing that makes sense is if we've done another Angus Mcdonald, "Injured? Nah, he's tip top mate" but I can't imagine we'd do that again. Baffled.
To steal from Theresa May yesterday: So either you were fit and didn't know you were fit and didn't bother telling anyone you might be fit, or you were fit and did know it and just couldn't be bothered to play, which is it?
