I honestly would not be surprised. I think the level of feeling of apathy and simply not wanting to go to games is much stronger than you realise in a lot more people than you realise.

I've been going to oakwell for not far off 30 years. Never heard as many people say they won't be renewing. Even the happy clappers are saying it. People who have had tickets for decades are saying it. People who I have never known miss a game are sat at home and their seats empty on a scale I have personally never seen before.

We've sat through some absolute ***** over the years, seen quite a few relegations and these people have been there week after week. They moan and grumble but I've never heard them say they won't renew. Now? Well now their seats are empty. Replicate that throughout the stadium and it really is shocking.

If someone has paid for a season ticket but is sitting at home instead of going to oakwell then theres no way they'd pay for a ticket next year. That's a LOT of people. And that's just the empty seats we see now. Add on top of that all those who currently attending because they've paid but have said they won't be going again and it really is a much bleaker picture than I've ever witnessed and there's only one group of people to blame

For me; I think if we were making massive profits (including my money) then I wouldn’t give a toss that they were taking money out of the club to fund the purchase.

But if the club is losing money, that becomes immoral IMHO.

As I’ve said before, if I bought the local corner shop for a million £, but I only had £500k on hand, so I borrow the rest and pay it off over the next 5 years using the shops profits, that’s perfectly fine, it’s what businesses do. And I’d find it bizarre if my customers complained that I was using ‘their’ money to buy my business.

However, customers do have a reason to complain if I sell subpar products, don’t give vfm, treat them badly and all this to cut costs in order to pay off the loan. And I’d not be too surprised if customers left to spend their money elsewhere.

The issue of the £750k seems a trigger for a lot of people, but for me I believe it’s a secondary concern, if we were currently mid table in the Premiership, and the owners had paid their debt to the Cryne’s from the TV profits, it’d be irrelevant. But taking money out of a struggling club is a kick in the head.

I can see a Blackpool scenario on the cards, attendances dropping to around 3k a week. As soon as the owners clear off it’ll bounce back upto where it should be at around 11000.

Agree with everything you’ve said, a lot of the proper happy clapper types have said they’ve had enough. Loads of empty seats that have had the same faces sat in them for 20+ years. Next season is looking bleak already.

    Agree with all of that.
It does also seem odd that the Crynew retained a 20% interest but then the money to pay them is coming out of the club they have a stake in.

Watching the live feed on Facebook. So far it's Luke doing a presentation on the history of the last 4 years. He's 50 minutes into it.

If you're in the FB group then you can watch it from there.

I think you seriously underestimate the depth of feeling right now. I’ll be amazed if we top even 5k season ticket sales. I admit I’m 50/50 right now. I want rid of these owners as much as anyone but the club is in my heart and has been for almost 50 years. It’s not easy to turn my back. However, if boycotting games next season guaranteed them leaving I’d do it in a heartbeat.

In a recent survey on the BBS about 50% of season ticket holders said they would renew. Albeit a straw poll that would equate to 5,500 ST's which is probably more than 2/3 of the teams in LG 1. If we start well and are up near the top then it may not be as bleak as people think

Did a similar one on the BSB Facebook group. That was about 50/50 also.
