I thought the original point of the meeting was to garner support of a movement To open discussion on ideas of where things can go. And without naming them, give some idea of what perspective takeover may mean. I found it strange as time went on that it seemed to become and talked about as something different. Why invite club reps if it's about ideas on how to mobilise. So am I right in thinking it's just turned into another q and a. As in another group that isn't the supporters trust having a go? I was hoping it would be more than that, but sounds as though it's far from what I was expecting it to be. Maybe I got it wrong?
Were there any questions? I stopped listening after the 66 year old apologised to Beth and said how much a fan he was of Luke.
Spoke with any supporter who wanted to chat afterwards. I’m sure he would have participated if asked as well. Not really sure what the club were invited for based on that.
I was there. I’d rather not comment as someone obviously put a lot of effort in to something that they thought was worthwhile. I just expected something more than Tykes TV Live On Tour.
Tbh I've not watched it. Didn't realise it was going to be live. But just reading odd few comments on here sounds like it was a presentation for an hour or so on stuff we already knew. So I didn't bother opening it to watch.
I think the big problem with tonight has been with the expectation management surrounding it. If you wanted to hear a monologue from a passionate fan then you'd have been happy with it. If you wanted to understand more about the group, it's aims, the key people behind it and anything to indicate that there's a credible plan for someone to buy the club, you would have been left disappointed. I suspect many turned up or tuned in expecting the latter.
Ok, maybe it's a different way of pushing stuff into the owners faces. Rather than a q n a, here are all the facts from the last x number of years. Maybe a first gear of look, this is what's happened. And next few gears turns up the heat. I dunno. I just thought it was going to be different to what's happened
I was very much in the latter. I nearly posted other day, asking if the aims of the meeting had changed. But didn't thinking I must have had it wrong. Hence me asking here as well. Genuinely opposite of what I thought the intention of it was
I went, a was curious so went along, I’ll give Luke the credit for doing that tonight, the lad essentially cares about the club from top to bottom and you can’t take that away from him. Did I learn anything new, no. These owners have had 4 years here now and have they taken us forward, no, we’ve had some success which needs to be mentioned but I think we’re in a worse place now than when they arrived. They’ve not plunged us into debt which is great In the current footballing world, à dont think they’ve done much different to what PC did either. A think they must come out and admit some major failings for this season, mangers, recrutement etc........would I support a new prospective owner if they had the finances and a real love for the club, yes. Only real bonus tonight is that I’ve called for a chinese on my way home
if he didn’t present on acetate then he has gone right down in my estimation. To be fair he did do enough to attract some attention from the trust, the CEO and staff as well as a smattering of fans without having much to say by what I’m reading here. Not sure where is credibility will go from here.
I couldn’t make it tonight unfortunately, but if I’d have known El-Ahmad was going to attend I would’ve tried harder to get out of my prior engagements and gone. I would’ve liked to have asked El-Ahmad about this… https://www.expressen.se/sport/fotboll/allsvenskan/bluffades-nu-kan-dif-bryta-med-al-shaheen-9/ And also about the cryptic tweet about a meeting with the Mayor of Tirana, Albania Erion Veliaj that took place last November. It’s since been deleted but I still have a screen shot of it…
