that's where I'm at. I don't want to support a feeder club or a footballer factory. I want the team that goes out on a Saturday to want one thing, to win games.
Sorry I thought that was the whole reason that you have both argued the supporters trust was better placed to enable fan feedback than any Facebook group? Becuase of your contacts to the club? Am I wrong on that point? My stance is pretty straightforward- tonight was a good meeting to set out what the problems are in pretty stark relief- and that some comments on here were very uncharitable. I am also baffled as to why the ST has been pretty hostile to any outside efforts to exert any pressure on the club given the dire straits we are in and instead we should be satisfied with endless chances to ask the CEO questions so he can dodge them. Unless you think things aren't as bad as all that? I also wanted to ask you why the ST has not done anything similar in setting out the problems the club has directly to the decision makers? Secondly I asked you that, given you have criticized Luke for not letting the CEO answer questions, what you think would have been gained by doing so since you said the answers would be the same?
I can't believe they had our club CEO in their company for a couple of hours and didn't ask him any questions. Surely not? You'd have him on the stage and ask him questions while the audience listened and then take questions from the audience.
And some place, somewhere Paul Conway is reading things from ‘both sides’ and laughing his knackers off. This club is a complete car crash at the moment and you only have to see how divided the fan base is to see that.
I literally don't recall that being said at all. Ever. I also don't recall saying the Supporters' Trust was better placed for anything. Happy to be pointed to where I've given that impression though. Do you class asking to meet the people behind the Conway Out group, asking to meet the 'consortium', and attending tonight and being free to contact hostile? What would you call banning Trust members from the Facebook group out of interest? I think our Q&A with the CEO set out pretty clearly the priorities as the supporter base as a whole sees them. Considering we only asked questions that came from supporters. I would be pretty confident that we've made our position clear on moving from Oakwell, the West Stand, and the £750k. Our website, the club website, the Chronicle, Radio Sheffield and the Yorkshire Post would probably back that up. There was nothing in the presentation tonight that Khaled wasn't aware of, in my opinion. But any update future update or response to supporters needs to come from Paul Conway and the board. Another position we've made clear. You might have the opinion that we haven't gone far enough but it isn't fair or correct to say we haven't done things.
All I'm saying is from what I see on here and what I see on there, we have a big issue between two "runners" of 2 now major groups. And I'm not taking sides on any of it. If it takes 2 different groups to push change then it takes 2 groups. The only thing I would advise to you and Gally, is this..... Gally (no offence meant) you have openly criticised the group. And if I'm very much mistaken still hold the opinion of it being a hoax. (I don't recall any retraction of it parliament style). Someone had to say it. Loko, you are very vocal on here. And at times including me, had heated debates. I don't take offence we can all be guilty of it. And for the record I very much include myself in that. Maybe we as fans are looking for you to be as argumentative with the club. I dunno. Appreciate you have to be diplomatic. And it's those 2 major reason why it looks like the Facebook group remain distant. In my opinion. I'm not speaking for anyone else, just offering my take on it. Of course, anyone on the Facebook group is open to become a member of the ST (as is anyone in here) and seek to be voted onto the board if they want to challenge things differently. (Both groups have a lot of "warriors" that wouldn't act the same face to face) I get the ST stance, but as it stands, are the only ones who actually hold any weight (unless the Facebook group really does take off on its own course). Alternatively, 10k folk just didn't bother renewing. I have no answers, but in times like this, everyone needs to stay together. By all means if you both feel it necessary to post screenshots of it go for it. I just think it will cause more division between the BBS and Conway out. That's me done. Said my piece. I'm gunna peruse all other discussions now on here and on there. Best wishes all
"Literally don't recall that being said at all. Ever. I also don't recall saying the Supporters' Trust was better placed for anything" Think this sums it up. By your own admission the supporters trust is no better placed than a bloke with a 1 month old Facebook group to get answers about the crisis in the club it represents or influence any change at all. Which is why the other half of the ST on here called was so keen to tell everyone it was hoax?
You're making statements and claims. I'm asking you to prove those claims and telling you they're not true. But you then just move on to another point along the same lines of attack I get it. You're a supporter of the group and a supporter who wants 'Conway Out'. I'm not going to attempt to tell you that's wrong, persuade you otherwise, or anything like that. But it's a difficult discussion to have, as an open and honest one, when you keep trying to spread misinformation. You've glossed and skipped over every response I've given you in this thread.
I'm quoting your own words back to you Loko. I'm not a supporter of any group, I'm a supporter of the club.
Barnsley lad stands up and tries his best to rally fans together against Billionaires taking money out of locals’ pockets. Locals accuse passionate fan of a hoax and carry on giving billionaires money.
Let’s be clear, what was claimed to be a hoax was that the Conway Out group was a front for a group of local business men who were actively trying to buy the club. A prominent member of the group usurped the name of a local businessman which seemed deliberate, and the subsequent disappearance of said member did nothing to allay the suspicion of myself and others. There is no evidence of this buy out and it no longer seems to be the angle that the Conway Out Group now apparently fronted by Luke from Tykes TV is trying to press. If the Conway Out group can give us an update on their position, which now seems to be similar to all of us as disgruntled fans, fighting for answers from the club about a number of issues, I’m sure a good chunk of this forum, and likely the supporters trust will be on board. The Conway Out group damaged their own credibility and have done nothing to try and win it back. That is the reason there is opposition to it, not that people don’t have the same concerns and fears.
Fair summary. I share a lot of the frustrations with everyone on how this season has gone and the way the owners have behaved but Im still convinced the creation of the group was based on several lies. One of them being a mystery backer. I want to know what the plan is. If they are going to encourage people to withdraw their support I want to know what the end game looks like. I want to know so that it doesn’t end up with us being the next Bury.
This is a really good point. I'm not giving an opinion on the night, but considering it was live on Facebook to the group, and the lack of understanding around this point you and others (myself included) rightly feel passionate about, why was it only one slide? Needed to be less of a review of each season and more focus on continuing to keep issues like this at the top of the agenda. The content of the slides felt familiar so probably just needed more help on that front to bring it home.
