Our only hope of survival is he gets sacked, we take him back and we play kick and run. It'll never happen like but that's the only realistic chance we have.
Its not realistic though because as you say yourself it wont happen The sacking part almost certainly will, but he wont come back here with things as they are now
I'm not sure I'd be happy with that, he's a one trick pony and got found out. Towards the end of last season you could visibly see other teams had figured us out. I wish him well, but he's had his time with us. It was a magical season, but one I doubt he'd be able to replicate again (west brom is a good indicator of that). When he went to west brom I actually thought he'd walk it to the prem, but now it's obvious he's got nothing else in his locker.
Shame for him but given WBA asset stripped our coaching and technical staff which in part has led to our current situation, I hope they do a Derby and Sunderland
I'd love it to happen, but sadly, it won't. I'd also love it to happen, as it'd upset so many posters convinced that Valerian was a one trick pony and was very lucky here.
Have you seen any evidence to the contrary? Totally respect your opinion if you have, as football is all about opinions isn't it. But from what I saw in the last few games with us and looking at his failure to employ the same method at West brom, it does point towards him being very one dimensional and easy to play against. But as I said, he was brilliant for us, he was exactly who we needed exactly when we needed him.
^^^^^^^^ This. His tactics wore thin. given teams worked us out. Also the 5 subs available allowed for players to go full tilt from the off. He has not had that at his disposal this season. Which was evident when we played em. Can’t fault his motivation of players though. Also. it’s not to say the present and last manager have shown any kind of tactical nouse.
I posted a credible link that he was gone last Thursday. Somebody else did the same on Sunday. Here we are on Wednesday Agree it seems inevitable, but ........
its the seasoned Pros they not gonna run about like that, plus he got his sidekick for arm round players job and the pros were probably who the **** are you ?
All this 'found out' is, in my opinion, utter rubbish. There's no doubt that results tailed off as the Play Offs were achieved. My view is that we were simply playing within ourselves and resting players for the final push. I have no doubt in my mind that if Valerian had still been here for this campaign, there's no way on God's green Earth would we be adrift at the bottom of the Championship, I'd say this season shows how easy it is to be found out with our play. I'm more than happy to disagree with anyone who wishes to denigrate one of the best seasons in the club's history. If that makes me unpopular, so be it.
I’m not sure he’d do much here if he came back to be honest. As good as he was for us, he also had a back room staff that kept the players fit and ready to play, to a style that requires a lot of fitness and energy, particularly in the forwards. That was ripped apart in the summer.
Don't think it makes you unpopular, not sure why you'd come to that conclusion? I'd say my opinion is the unpopular one, but I'm ok with that
Plus no offers for our players sez the CEO under Val... So not good for the owners, not be coming back here ... Sadly.
A bit like when you were happy that Daniel Stendel was sacked, a matter of months after leading us to a record breaking promotion season and publicly pleading with the owners to bring in Championship experienced players to help the multitude of promising, but untried youngsters to the club. I still like Conor Hourihane, too.
I probably needed to be clearer. I’m saying it will never happen (He’s never coming back. The owners wouldn’t allow it and he’d not want to) but if that bit wasn’t an issue, and everyone let bygones be bygones then it’s the only (realistic) way of getting out of this mess.
