Walton will be picked anyway as he's a cup keeper. But with how poor he was against Barrow I would stick with Collins for Huddersfield.
Exactly my point,Walton should be out on loan playing first team football, not getting any better sat on subs bench.
I’d imagine Walton will be our keeper next season in league 1 and I don’t have any worries about this. Regarding Collins, he has many in the bank so no.
When Walton was dropped for the cup last season to give Collins a game. Most on here were more than happy with Walton and thought he should regain his place. ( apart from Scott who obviously didn't rate him at all.) . He was without doubt the main reason we stayed up the year before. I have confidence in the lad. Every goalie is susceptible to the odd clanger. Walton and indeed Collins no more no less.
Daft idea. He's been outstanding this season and is well in credit. Edited in: However if he's the 'cup keeper' then fair enough. Point being how he does tonight should have no bearing on him playing or otherwise on Saturday,
Walton will likely play anyway. But Collins has plenty of cash in the bank performance wise. I’d say in one game Walton was responsible for about as many goals this season as Collins has been in nearly thirty.
Clanger at Birmingham clanger on Saturday and if he drops another bollock tonight he deserves dropping(well in credit or not).
Like I said earlier in this post he should have been sent out on loan this season playing first team football.
Given loans have to be for a half or full season , unless he was going to play non-league, who would you have had as backup in the event of injury or suspension to Collins? Gone are the days when you can just recall them off loan whenever you fancy. It has to be in a window. You can get a keeper in for emergencies but I doubt they’d allow that when we have kids in the u23s and u18s, plus in your circumstance a keeper out on loan
Two bad games out of thirty and dropped? Who would play for us on that ratio? We’d all have had a game by now
Big fan of Walton, but agree with the above. We shouldn't be replacing a keeper who has had an excellent season because of a mistake or even a few mistakes. If he's lost confidence that's a different story, but that's what a good manager will ascertain.
Are you jack waltons mum? You would drop arguably player of season so fat after 2 mistakes i wouldnt.
Ahh, the subtle Collins' bashing is back. It's great to see after a couple of mistakes. I can say for certain though, we'd be even further away from Derby had he not been brilliant for us this season. Alisson and Ederson have made several high-profile mistakes this season - send 'em back to Brazil! There were a few on here who couldn't wait to call out Collins, scapegoat him. But I dread to imagine where we would be without him this season points-wise. Player of the season by a country mile so far this season, and played a massive role last season in finishing in the playoffs, especially him coming off his line a mile to clear under Val. Seems a tad strange people bash him when our alternative isn't even ready for regular championship football (in my opinion ofcourse). The very least of our concerns.
Tbf Collins was sat on the bench when Walton was no.1 keeper. Difference was when he got his opportunity he grabbed it with both hands. Collins has shown enough this season (and last) to be no.1 keeper. I like Walton but he hasn't impressed at all in the few chances he's had so far this season.
Worst position on pitch for mistakes costing ya team..everyone cocks up bt goalie has no cover....both ours make odd errors if they dint they'd be at Citeh....
