My View Can this idiot group going by the name of Conway out please stop acting like they are talking for the majority of the fan base because they aren’t and NEVER will. The group is made of ****** and lies and only go to do one thing. To make the club a laughing stock like TYKESTV was and is still to this day. The fella that goes by Luke made us look awful pre covid and was ridiculed by many fans including Sheffield Wednesday fans often which was used to mock other fans. The name Conway out According to the Chronicle article which was published a while ago the PMG group controlled a stake of 27.5% in Barnsley. If you split this into 2 as Grace Hung and mentioned above, Paul Conway owns an individual stake of 13.75%. Less than NCC, James Cryne and Neerav Perek. Billy Beane had 10%. So, I ask you what good does it do to say Conway OUT? People don’t talk about James or Jean Cryne speaking and after what happened 6 or so years ago I understand why but remember the clubs running to the plan of Mr P Cryne with improvements in a few small areas. Who will take over? Ever since the sale of the club by Mr P Cryne in late 2017 I've always felt the club would be at risk more when the current ownership comes to sell the club. I rightly or wrongly felt at ease with whom Mr P Cryne would sell the club to and still to this day I don’t think they have been bad at all. The next sale will be done from a financial point of view rather than a connection and love for the club and to progress it in a way. My biggest worry for the club would be if a Steven Dale type bought the club or the former Watford owner (Laurence Bassini) that tried to buy Birmingham city recently. Or we could have the disaster that happened at Charlton (Matthew Southall) and then tried to buy Rochdale FC. Not to mention what's happening at Oldham or happened at Layton Orient….. Is the current ownership perfect? The short answer would be no. The longer answer would be no but I do understand why they would and likely do feel frustration at not being able to take the club forward. With the option to buy the ground not there because they can’t get insurance of the land and covid happening, things haven’t gone the Barnsley investment groups way at all. I had three grips going into the season and one was the commercial aspect of the club. One was the media team at Oakwell and a third was the poor quality of players that have come from the academy since the changes were made 7? Year ago. We seemed to have a good player every year for a while now the fans are filled with delight at what happened on Saturday from Wolfe and Marsh. We are a long way off the likes of Clark Stones Holgate Bree Digby…. With what I witnessed from those two. Commercially the club seems to be getting better but still a long way to go. The introduction of the likes of Whoop and Parliament along with mentioned new sponsor for next seasons going in the right direction but still not significant sponsorship at the main sponsor level or even a Ground sponsor like they have at Rotherham for example. It was said that under the old sponsorship title Rotherham got in around 900K a season for the sponsorship of the NYS. If you avg a season ticket sale at 220 pounds then that’s over 4000 sales equivalent. What can you say about the media output at Oakwell? It’s awful. Really really awful. The above was written before the Cardiff game at Oakwell. Since I’ve seen pictures of the vandalisation of parts of Oakwell. The club MUST act with full force. This isn’t acceptable at any stage. If they want to make it personal then Paul Conway and the investment group should go toe to toe. Banning orders from the club for anyone that steps out of line at Oakwell. No protest. No standing out of your seat. NOTHING. Oakwell became a place I enjoy going to for different reasons in late 2019. It becomes a place I think about going to smile especially before the game and these people are starting to Flip me off and make going to Oakwell something that isn’t enjoyable.

So you think the fans should say and do nothing? Sit on our hands. Whatever Conway’s personal proportion of the shares are he nevertheless is the face and voice of the majority shareholders. The same shareholders who either didn’t do their homework properly when they acquired the club or are using the covenant as an excuse not to proceed with the ground purchase. It’s either one or the other, but irrespective they are now seemingly content to let the club whither away. It’s simply unreasonable to think that the fans should passively accept the clubs demise with out seeking to do anything about it. I don’t hold with vandalism and as yet I’m standing back from the Conway out crew because I don’t know where they’re coming from, but the fans have every right to legitimate protest.
I would suggest if you've found visits to Oakwell enjoyable this season you should change your user name to Marquis De Sade because he apparently liked a bit of pain and suffering too
I've enjoyed going to oakwell for years now it's become a chore to go not due to our fans all to do with clueless owners we have who fetched in rubbish like oulare cole iseka schopp asbaghi etc. I'm no longer going to sit there n not voice my concern how these owners are making us a laughing stock in championship. This season we will be setting a record for lowest points total ever in championship. Fans are aloud to protest if done in peaceful manner which I intend to do whilst ever these owners carry on with the stupid model that clearly ain't working.
If I understood rightly. All he muttered was in effect he wants the present owners to change their strategy. Be open and honest. Something the ST and Fan engagement groups want during dialect with the ceo. We want what all fans want. but you can only do that through dialogue. Some replies are unpalatable but honest. Hopefully we can influence a change in policy. For luke, I ask, Is it change the strategy or demand the removal of the owners. Clear as mud to me. I have asked the same questions on the communications and said how sadly lacking they are. Eg, last week at a different meeting to discuss fans behaviour. At mainly away games. But the odd incident at home. ( which quite frankly is appalling given the stats throughout the country also) The west stand issue came up and the senior safety officer took full responsibility for closing it down. Also stating we on occasion faced ground closure within days. (Someone else may be able to give the exact details.) But I said to him. His explanations far exceeded those of the CEO at the previous fan engagement. And He should deal with the media to get the full prospective out there. Communication and honesty is what we all seek. Be it BBS., ST and indeed Tykes united if that's what they call themselves.
Conway out. He is clearly out of his depth. These owners have done nothing to advance the club. Look at their record with the clubs they have in Europe, everyone of them is struggling. Conway out out out go now don't come back. Just go.
Have you got deep pockets or a solution. Or feel they should just walk away with nothing in place. ?. It's all well shouting conway or the board out. I too would like to see a change of ownership. But until anyone approaches them. They ain't going anywhere.
Think the atmosphere at games as been glum for most with what is on show but I keep hearing of toxic atmospheres at games or predicting it, when all the toxicity I have seen as been on here and other sites. Oakwell has been like a morgue.
Compared to other clubs I think the atmosphere at Oakwell has been ok r considering the position we're in.
A bit unfair for that other lad on Tykes Tv Neil he seems to be trying to do different content with opposition fans etc, and he tries to be neutral but also passionate. Whilst I agree with the uncertainty about the Facebook group methods with the owners and all surrounding this situation it’s not great. Higgy do you watch/subscribe to the channel? If you surely you can tell a difference on how it’s trying to come across like I said that other fella Neil seems pretty good to be fair.
I try and avoid the channel if I can. Very occasionally I get sent a link to watch. The last was Luke talking facts. Well, he said they were facts. They weren’t at all.
I suggest you watch it then when he’s not on but the other content being put together seems to be varied different topics covered, like I said a bit hard on the other fella when he seems to be doing different things on the channel. Not a dig mate just seeing from all parties Yes the Facebook group I understand don’t know if the other fella (Neil) reads this but just my thoughts on it.
