Just seen Disco in metrodome, one of my favourite all time players. Still looks like he could play now. Made my day
He was my landlord back in 2010 - 2012 when I used to live at one of his places off donny road. Proper down to earth nice bloke who cares about the club and the town He once sorted me and a mate tickets out for Leeds away when we drew 3-3 and trippier scored that blinding free kick to equalise!
His best goal has to be the one at Bradford when he went on a long mazy run. before banging it in tut net.
Nah, surely his smashing second of the match and the winner against Plymouth away on a midweek night in March 2007, which helped to kick start out survival push that year with a 4-2 win. A real “I was there memory”!
If I remember rightly, I was working inside the M25 and then took a half day…back up to Watford that same night!
Just like Bobby Hassell and Bruce Dyer he’s an adopted Tarn lad, so I love the guy. One of my favourite ever players too, wish we had someone with his crossing ability these days. I wouldn’t mind seeing him given the head coach job one day, let’s face it can he really do worse than what we’ve had this season?! If they’re wanting more academy lads getting into first team, who’s going to know them better and how to get them playing to their potential than Devaney? If the current guy gets sacked at least give him the job till the end of the season, sooner they gave it him than waste more money on another guy that lacks Championship experience.
Brilliant bloke, loved him as a player but as a person he was even better. Helped me a lot when I was a kid working at the football club and he had no need to do so. Had time for anyone, can’t say enough good things about Davvers.
I remember that match vividly as my mum had just died so I was heartbroken and needed a distraction and leaving the car park at Plymouth a Plymouth fan scratched the side of our car. Was a very memorable game for so many reasons but gave me something to cheer at a dark time.
He's almost definitely going to be manager one day, think it's when not if. I just hope he ends up getting a fair crack of the whip when he does take the job, it'd be **** for him to lose all that
Once did an electric test on his Dad’s property down in Cheltenham or somewhere similar if I remember correctly. His dad was very excited I was from Barnsley so we could talk about him. He had a lovely little display of pictures of him through out his football career.
