At an away game? Not planning on doing myself, just a general wondering of what the experience was like.
Yeah Oakwell. In all my years following the Reds I've only seen us batter Bristol City under Davey in 2007.
Stood on the home end at Leeds years ago . Midweek match lost 2-0 . Gave it away by not cheering Leeds first goal kept getting punched in back but got away with it lightly tbf . Got called dirty Miners and as I’d gone to match straight from pit more or less my eyes were full of mascara so if the not cheering didn’t give it away my eyes definitely did .
Back in 1981, we sat in the cantilever stand at Hillsborough when we drew 2-2. Plenty of threats of violence but none materialised.
Yes many years ago at Middlesbrough in a fa cup game, not sure which round but when Glynn Riley scored the opening goal they knew I was there, luckily for me they went on to beat us 2-1 l think, dodged a lot of abuse that day along with cans and bricks outside the ground
You're correct, it is. Bobby Horn was in goal and Ronnie Glavin ran clear from midfield in the closing moments to equalise in front of the Barnsley fans.
My Dad took us in the home end for the 2-0 Victory at Hillsboro in 1979. A 12 year old me jumping all over the place in front of all the Wednesdayites. Looking back I don't know how we didn't get our heads kicked in lol Also Wednesday end at Hillsboro, cup defeat 1982. Sheff U home end, for the 1.1 draw 1981. Both with my Dad. Finally the 2.0 Victory at Watford away 1993, with my wife. Turned up late-ish and their ticket office wouldn't give us a ticket with the away fans. So sat in with the home fans. 2.0 up after about 10 minutes through Biggins and Bryson.... Happy days
Sheff Utd in our promotion season. Bloke in seat next to me said how nice it were we could sit next to each other without violence . On final whistle he advised me to **** off quick. Brothers fault for celebrating our goal. What a game.
Away at Hull City in the early eighties, they had put the prices up big time for us lot so me & my mate decide we would pay the home price & sit in their end , not a smart move , managed to get out in one piece just, we won 2 nil or 2 v 1 I think but seeing us score twice & trying not to react was not easy & I didn"t realise how many knuckle heads watched Hull & we kept getting the looks & the stares , it was a very uncomfortable experience .
I've done it a few times. The only time I've ever been beaten up was at Burnden Park, Bolton when we lost 2-1 February 1982.
Year's ago I used to go and watch Wednesday (when BFC were away) and sit in the home end, it was the year they got relegated to League 1. It was brilliant listening to them moaning about the team. We would take it in turns to stand up and shout 'b****y rubbish Wednesday!'. All the while pretending to moan but secretly laughing between ourselves when the other team scored. if any Wednesday fans are doing the same to us this season they will be having a similar experience.
Yup. There was about a dozen who set about me. I remember thinking "I hope no one's got a Stanley Knife" as it was only about a month after the problems at Liverpool.
