We managed Benson's scuffed effort in midweek. There are hotly contested goals that were chalked off. That said if you don't buy a ticket you never win a raffle. We lost the game in the first 25 minutes & then huffed & puffed but didn't blow anyone off. In the end was another damp squib.

It's probably something to do with this. Poya isn't a fan of the long range shot, he prefers to walk it in.

Yeah but the players that finished 5th last season and could finish really are trying their best - and are on course to be the lowest scoring and lowest achieving Championship side ever.

Their defender came the closest for us, with the flick over the goalkeeper and onto the post.

When you're struggling at the bottom, you get no luck. 99 times out of 100, that would have gone in, but we're the 1 that didn't.

You can say that but then you can also say that when they hit the post 99 times out of 100 it would have fell to their unmarked striker stood in the centre of the goal but instead theirs was the 1 that went a yard to his right.

The man is a complete joke. I honestly believes that having no shots on target is better than having shots from 30 yards.

Abysmal. They created next to nothing. Genuinely never looked like scoring. For the fans to sell out their allocation, get drenched on an utterly dreadful day weather wise and then to find Helik, Collins, Morris, Vita and Benson aren't playing, but sicknote Halme is...

I'd forgotten what Halme looked like tbh. When did he last play? 2015? The club is a joke and every defeat gets more and more depressing. It feels like the fans are being treated with contempt. There seemed to be no structure or plan at all first half and inevitably we conceded. Lucky to go in at half time only one down. 3 subs and the second half started better, but we never seriously threatened. The midfield work hard but lack any creative spark and the strikers are useless.

    A thoroughly miserable day...

He's made the same comments multiple times too so it is clearly his philosophy and explains why we no longer bother with shots

This shot shyness and trying to walk it into the net and score the perfect goal was highlighted in his first few games. Hes deluded and obvioualy quite arrogant. No doubt in my mind bal cohld get these players performing and scoring goals and out the oppostion on the back foot. We are a walkover for teams. Absolute shambles and its ‘just like watching paint dry’ not brazil.

At the Coventry match I saw players put their bodies on the line , throw themselves in front of shots , Harassed the attacking players etc etc .
After that game I came on here and posted that although we’re not gonna be the team of the previous season but with the commitment shown on that day that we’d be ok .
I never thought we’d capitulate like we have gone after that day and yet some are saying that some of the same players as that day are giving everything .
Imo that’s an insult to try and convince people that the performances of the last fifteen matches have seen the same commitment as the early season .
That’s up to them if they want to blow smoke up arses but I know the difference of levels of commitment and not being good enough without people trying to tell me something that I know is not happening .
Rotherham last season weren’t good enough but by goodness they didn’t go down without a fight something we are sadly lacking besides tactics .

Seen it several times and there's very little wrong with Helik's 'goal'. That's two in two. Won't keep us in the cup or keep us up, but it's indicative of our fortune currently.

Im really surprised, genuinely, how some people have interpreted this. Isn’t he responding to the no shots on target stat rather than our tactics/strategy?

Basically saying you can miss great chances that aren’t on target, rather than having speculate efforts from 30 yards that don’t trouble the keeper but are on target. A handful of nothing shots that are at the keeper or easily saved boost the stat box, but doesn’t mean you actually looked like scoring. Not that we really looked like scoring too much today.

In the last two games we’ve had two fair goals disallowed, Benson and Cole blaze wide when they should have buried it, and Kitching and Morris x 2 come close or not do as well as they should have. Plus decent balls put in today but just powderpuff in the middle trying to make something of it.

Doesn’t change that we’ve not been that great. But it’s that stat hanging over us like a black cloud he’s trying to defend I think.

There's much more chance of the keeper making a mistake and conceding a goal if you have the occasional speculative shot though than there is if you don't shoot at all. Nobody remembers Neil redfearn for the hundreds of shots he missed

PA ' better than shooting at the goalkeeper from 30 yards. I think we created good enough chances..'
So much for the goals Neil Redfearn, Ian Banks,Mamadou Thiam, AdamHammill,Connor Hourihane, Darren Banard(to name but a few) scored from long range then. Poya must think we are playing 5 - aside.

Weirdest thing I've seen from fans today, post-match, is a few knocking the decision to play Morris wide. The same Morris who has played almost exclusively wide his entire career, who played wide last season for us, same position as today. And he was on form in the first 15 minutes of the second half.

He was then moved centrally, and barely got a touch.

Luton are all wrong for us by the way. So I'm saying 1-0 win and the start of a revival.

    I've also been drinking.

Seen comments today about it being a travesty that he’ll be in League One next season (I agree). Only reason that we think that though is because we took a chance on him when nobody else in the Championship was interested. You could probably search the comments on here about his goal record and the fact he couldn’t even hit the net for MK Dons and Shrewsbury.

He probably also had a similar, or worse, games played record to Bassi. Must be ace being Captain Hindsight.

Bassi clearly shoves their lad in the back before Helik's header, which is what the ref correctly blew for. Really stupid thing to do right under the ref's nose.
