How to destroy a promising young player.
Play just anyone ahead of him and then claim you’ve decided he needs to play in a different position.
Truly disgraceful. If I was an agent, or parent I’d be steering well clear of Barnsley F.C.
The random way we treat players is nonsense.

If we are retraining him as a centre back, why not start him there today? Playing Halme out of nowhere, when he was clearly nowhere near up to speed, seemed bonkers to me. Helik should’ve started but if we are rotating, why not give Hondermarck a chance in his new position?

I suspect we would soon find out that he’s nowhere near good enough at this level, but whilst there’s doubt there’s hope.

Still can't get over how we've let Sibbick go either. Obviously Daniel and Val had no issues with playing him.

Palmer has made 19 starts this season, Hondermarck 1. Go figure.

I really don’t get the Hondermarck love in. When ive seen him play he looks very raw & a long way off been a championship player (even further than most others, before someone says it).

Same. Best game was at Boro where he played CB didn’t he?

Thought he played wing back at Boro but no way has he been given a chance to develop since then.

The coach made it clear this week he wasn’t played because of his attitude.

It’s funny how the players we never see suddenly become world-beaters whenever the team are struggling. How long before there are calls to bring Clarke Oduor back into the starting line up?

Would genuinely like to see Hondermarck given a run of games to see where he stands regarding division one next season he surely can’t be worse than Odour etc

I’d hardly call it a love in. We’ve barely seen him. But he’s looks better than the permanently off form Palmer who gets a game regardless.
My point is, having looked reasonably promising, he is ignored time and again, whilst we try every other conceivable and inconceivable option. I’d like to see him get a run of 3 or 4 games. Then we might know.

I suppose it’s opinions. I’ve not seen him play well in midfield. The only time I thought he showed anything was playing right centre back at Boro. In midfield I thought he was losing the ball easily & getting dragged out of position too much. He looks the sort of player that needs a loan spell in probably league 2 or non league.

When I watched Wolfe play last weekend I thought he looked really composed, his positioning was good, he kept the ball well & he put a tackle in when needed. I can understand why fans would be clamouring to see more of him.

I agree with you on both counts. If I was clamouring for another midfielder to get a chance it would be Wolfe but as we all know he has well recorded fitness issues (supposedly growing pains) so he needs managing back. Not seen owt to get excited about in Hondermarck yet in midfield.
