I didn't go to the match and the highlights are too short to tell so how did young Aiden Marsh perform on his first full debut? At 17 the lad was thrown into the deep end in a cup tie against a local rival.
I missed some parts of the first half but what I did see he just didn't manage to get into the game. Mind you, there were several higher profile players who were passengers the entire time they were on the pitch.
So obviously out of his depth it was painful. Not his fault, an absolute joke of a decision to throw him in to that environment and telling ofa complete lack of knowledge and understanding of what a cup tie in those conditions would be like. My 9 year old would have had a more effective impact.
Terrible conditions against a big side and was shoved up with the god awful lazy Iseka and someone who's spent the last 18 months playing in defence. May as well have just shoved him under the wheels of the team coach before the game
He was playing wide right for much of the time, and had very few touches of the ball to make a proper judgement on him. To say "out of his depth" is way too harsh.
I agree with this. A bit disappointed that he didn't play some of the second half so I could get a better look at him.
He just wasn’t in the game. Didn’t do anything with the ball on the couple of occasions he got it but I wouldn’t go as far as to say he was out of his depth. There’s plenty of games where quality players up top or out wide aren’t involved in the game not because of their ability but because we’re second best or that the play has mainly been on the other side.
Don't think anyone is calling him out. Just telling the truth on the fact he hardly had a touch. His day will come again..
Now we've tried all the strikers who weren't getting a chance...and some more besides...can Cauley come back in with everyone's blessing when he's fit?
