There will still be years in League 1 when you don't have Portsmouth, Sunderland, Charlton, Ipswich, Sheff Wed to compete with. In those years you'll be able to attract better players.
You could well be right but the first three players on your list were all going to be sold this january according to many experts on here , also last time we dropped everyone said that Mowatt would be sold but he wasn"t , what I am trying to say is that there is always speculation about our players being sold but it is simply a case of wait & see , obviously there will be some that leave but no one can say with any certainty who these might be , we have heard it all before.
Oh totally expecting a fire sale.. but these players arnt worth half as much as they were this time last season
Helik, Woodrow and Styles will have one year left on their contract, so I just can’t see them staying
If current wages are 11.1 million archfield sez the shortfall will be in the region of 7 million..what I see is.. fire sale then play the under 23s.. hence Disco appearing on the bench from nowhere.. deffo not asked by Poya they never speak. Keep Poya till EoS sack him with a religation clause. Fire sale, and Devaney incharge next season coz he knows the young players..
I think everyone and there dog knows we'll lose all of our top players.. the question after such a s'h1t season.. how much will we get for em..
I’m actually thinking back mostly to the late-70’s to early 80’s. No coincidence that most of us around at the time look back so fondly on those years.
Of course they aren't. But we keep saying these things like it's a surprise? Or like it's uncommon. Any failing team is worth less than it was the season before, unless you've got bright sparks within it such as a leading goalscorer (like Morris, for example).
Cost cutting. Redundancies. Close the academy. I'm not advocating any of those things, but the owners might look at a combination of measures. Administration would be the least palatable option IMO.
Last two seasons to May 2020 we have been net sellers and still lost around £4m. Accounts are out in a few weeks which will lay bare the position to May 2021. Make no mistake this club we all love is in a bad place. If ever you wondered how bad consider the January transfer dealings.
Again you are right but when Woodrow got in the same position everyone & their grandmother said that he was off & then low & behold he signed an extension , I think it all depends on who is in charge come the summer & a clearer picture emerges , I am not sure that they will all go , as I have said before they were all going in january but they are still here ..
