Who you going for Saturday night? I’m going Khan, either stoppage or points, a think Kell dislikes him so much a think he’ll lose his head some of the rounds and it’ll play into Khans hands. I’ve always liked AK so will definitely be team Khan Saturday night
He hasn't got a chin though' if he has a gameplan based on defence and countering i would fancy him on points but if he gets drawn into a tear up i fancy brooke..
I think Khan will win on points, but wouldn't rule out a Brook knockout. Should be quite entertaining.
Neither has Brook. He's acting punch drunk right now and I think this is just a massive cash out by someone who was about to retire this year anyway.
Despite the knockouts Khan is the fresher, fitter fighter. Especially at 147 (although this is contracted at 149). Brook is dangerous for the first 3/4 rounds but even if Amir has lost 20% of his hand speed he's still up their as one of the fastest welterweights. Brook's major weapon is his timing and I just don't know if he has that anymore. He comes across desperate in the 'Gloves are Off' episode and not at all with it. Something not right mentality and I don't believe he has the best training regime around him. Despite being from Yorkshire and cheering him on in all his fights I've never really taken to Brook. His obsession with Khan pretty much ruined his career when he should have been chasing his own legacy after the Porter win. The run of title defences he had after that was nothing short of disgraceful. Khan might have been sparked out three times but he's always chased the biggest fights when he was in his prime - Brook only did that when he was faded and the money was right. Khan quit against Crawford, which was pretty disgraceful, but Brook was just annihilated.
Hoping to get back from our first win in Coventry for 99 years to watch that fight, and Jonas' world title bout too. I'll go Khan on points. Hopefully in a war. Get my money's worth.
I think Khan may get on top with hand speed early on but once Brook adjusts to the speed and starts landing then Khan goes down for me - Khan has always been chinny, Brook if you look over his fights has always had a pretty good chin and fought far heavier punchers than Khan also Brook has always been heavy handed at whatever weight he has fought at - Brook by knockout rounds 5 - 7
You sure on this? Golovkin aside, which was Brook taking a payday and literally trying to outdo Khan by moving up to middleweight, who else has Brook fought that's known as a big puncher? Khan has been in with Garcia, Prescott, Maidana, Canelo, Crawford. Judah could bang a bit as well. Brook has been in with Crawford and.....who else that was a really dangerous puncher?
Brook has been knocked out in all three of his defeats though? Hasn't lost on points once. Granted TKO vs. KO but those are the stats. My point was around who's faced the biggest punchers though rather than who's been knocked out the most. Outside of beating Porter for the title, Brook has lost each time he's stepped up in class.
Always thought Khan was the better of the 2, now it probably comes down to who has deteriorated the least.
Sure tko's are not knockouts - the point I was trying to make is that Khan can't imo knock Brook out whereas imo Brook can knock Khan out
We'll see. Khan can definitely get to a point where Brook is taking too much punishment and not returning fire - which will then be a TKO/KO. I guess you it came across like Brook was this granite chinned indestructible force but he's taken a beating in his three biggest fights to date. Khan has mixed in much more powerful circles and hasn't been knocked out in all of them - taking the easy way out against Crawford but hanging with and beating Maidana and Judah.
As I said in a previous post, I think Khan will be going all out to dazzle Brook at the start of the fight with a faster hand speed and will dominate the early rounds but Brook will have been sparring with guys with fast hands and once he has adjusted to this and starts landing then Khan is in trouble for me - you can prepare all you want for another fighter by getting in fighters to simulate what your opponent is strong at but you cannot change your jaw and that is the problem for Khan.
I think you're discounting the weight and how faded Brook is. Brook shouldn't, in theory, come on strong later. As much as Khan will try to dazzle early on, Brook will want to end it early and won't want it going in to the later rounds at all. I fancy Khan's fitness to be better out of the two, and as much as you can spar with fast handed fighters it doesn't create the same intensity as fight night. And Brook's biggest asset has always been his timing and distance which is one of the first things to go when you go on too long.
I personally don't see Brook as faded, looking at his training schedule I wouldn't say he is faded at all - I believe they are both the same age Loko and both been fighting around the same length of time so I see durability of both fighters around the same - the catchweight is only a change of 2 pounds so shouldn't make too much difference imo, best to agree to disagree on this one as you obviously think Khan will win and I don't unless Brook has eye socket issues and the fight is stopped
Basing that on his most recent fights and how much of a punchbag he was in the Crawford fight. I don't think he can really make 147 anymore, hence the 149 catchweight, but there was just a sense of desperation in how he handled 'The Gloves Are Off' episode on Sky. He's got a better chin than Khan for sure. But his punch resistance won't be there I don't think. I don't make Khan an overwhelming favourite, but I think he turns up with far more attributes in his favour. But as we know, it only takes on shot to land. Could easily see Khan winning round after round, getting cocky, and getting hit.
