Especially for someone well known for socialising over a long period of time with known paedophiles , who initially tried everything he could to discredit the lass.
Stinks to high heaven imho.( obviously in a non sweaty way)

It is not our money? where did they get "the Crown Estate" from?

    Who voted for them anyway?

I probably am a bit overzealous sometimes, but a thread where I'm mildly questioning someone who appears to be downplaying sex trafficking and having a go at the victim isn't the best place to pick a scrap or call me out as a "woke shark"

a fair proportion of the modern ‘crown estate’ is land and property bought by Victoria and Albert. Prior to Vic’s ascension, the royal estate had diminished significantly from its historic size.

And I’m no royalist, but my interest in history is politically agnostic.

But I suppose, if the royal family’s only income is ‘us’, then any assets purchased by them also belong to ‘us’. Though I’m not convinced their finances are that simple.

There's two ways to look at this.

    1) He's guilty as hell and has saved his skin by paying a probable obscene amount of money to the victim
    2) He isn't guilty, and as someone wealthy who can afford to without a second glance at his wallet, decided to just 'get rid of it' considering his profile. Not that it will ever go away.

I'd be very inclined to lean towards #1 with everything that's out there. I wouldn't cast judgement on this, but if it was a cast iron guilty verdict then would a victim want to go through the courts rather than settle? The settlement will, I imagine, mean she can never talk about this openly or benefit from chat shows, books, etc. so unfair to suggest that's a motivation. Only the press will be able to publish anything on it.

As always; some questionable morals jump up.

As for her age at the time. The allegations centre on her being under the age of consent for at least one of the places the events took place.

You cant draw your own line, you have to stick to the letter of the law.

Or would you allow your 14 yr old daughter to get laid by someone from many places in Europe or many states of America where that’s legal.

The Estate is run independently and the majority of money from it goes directly into the treasury for the good of the British people. A percentage is paid directly to the reigning Monarch and is essentially their income. It's the reason why when you consider the Crown Estate the Monarchy puts a lot more money into the treasury than it pays out. If it was divvied up to individuals it would result in much less money being collected.

It was a civil case not a criminal case.

Jail time was never on the cards.

Under 18 is a child under US law. Can't see how anyone can defend him.

Just to add - it was always about money. That’s not a negative against her at all. That’s the only option she had, a criminal case cannot be brought by an individual against another individual. Criminal cases are brought by the state/CPS etc. and can never be “settled out of court”.

It might not be the same as being found guilty, but if you Google, 'the nonce settles', that's the first story that comes up!:D
