A big game this evening. Whilst our chances of survival remain incredibly slim, this game could have a huge bearing.

I think a Reading win would be the worst outcome, as although their goal difference is only marginally better than ours, and they'll have played a game more, I'd rather have the points on the board.

I'd argue that a Peterborough win would be the best result, as their goal difference is much worse than ours, and the gap would be 6.

A draw would see Reading move to 6 points clear, with about a 3 better goal difference, but a game extra played.

I think it's all clutching at straws, but there were signs in our performance on Saturday that bring encouragement. Particularly when you consider that Quina, Bassi and Vita who have all recently come into the team, are a vast improvement on what we had in the first half of the season.

A draw has to be the best outcome as only 2 points are added to the league table

Agree H. Someone has to be on 23 points after this game. So a draw is best so no one gets that winning feeling.

EDIT - at least 23 points. Obviously if Reading win they'll be on 25

Anything but a Pboro win for me, preferably a draw, they're at Derby on Sat, don't want them going into that on the up, 6 points in a week against nearest rivals would not be good.

The result will be what it will be. Little point worrying about it.

I agree just can't see us winning enough games to stay up. Hope i'am wrong but don't it.

I tend to agree with you. I thing Reading have a stronger squad too. I think Peterborough are catchable, where I'm not as convinced re Reading & Derby.
A draw wouldn't be a disaster though. Its the time of the season you need to pick up wins, if you are going to get out of the mire.

Precisely. If we get a few more wins or string a run of games together where we're unbeaten, then I'd start to look at other teams, their games, their likely results. But at this point, we've still only won 1 game in what feels like about a million games.

The way this season's going for us, they'll probably both win.

If I could bring myself to care a draw is the best result for us but its a bit like asking what tune do I want the band on the Titanic to play.
We have won one game in the last 100 days. Whilst I see signs of improvement and think we will win some more games and get past the 23 points low record I dont see us getting anywhere near the 45 points or so we need to have a fighting chance so I wont be paying much attention to tonight's game
I strongly expect us to be playing Peterborough and Reading next season regardless of their result tonight

Pretty much what everyone else has said. I'd take a draw or a Peterborough win. I still think Reading have the players to stay up but are just on a terrible run. I'm confident if Peterborough win they won't gather any momentum.

That said we've got to string some results together. (I mean wins). Until we do it's folly to look at other results. It will most likely be 6 points deficit minimum on Saturday because we have a ******* of a fixture.

I think 40 will probably be enough this season. Still feels a long way off though.

    Agree with that.
7 wins and a couple of draws needed in 16 games......pretty unlikely I'd say.

Someone will hit a purple patch at the bottom. It happens every season. The enormity of the task in hand will hit Derby soon now they're in touching distance. I said 12 wins from 17 before the QPR game it's now 11 from 16. Count down the wins when they happen and take it from there.

It won't be anywhere near 50 points this season mate. Expect the lowest total at the bottom for many a year

Some always tends to be dragged in to it as well. At the moment it's looking like 3 from 4 but it can change very quickly. We could have done with Hull losing last night. They are well ahead of us 16 points clear but they go to QPR at the weekend which won't be easy for them. If QPR get back on track and we can beat Coventry then Tuesday looks all the more interesting. Them and Birmingham are worth keeping an eye on to go in to freefall. Not so much Cardiff or Bristol.

I agree. Aim high though as the saying goes. I did the fishy football league calculator and got us staying up on 38 points with Peterborough Derby and Reading going down. That would be 7 wins and 9 defeats or 6 wins 3 draws 7 defeats. Basically we could afford another 9 defeats providing we don't draw any. For every draw though you'd have less margin for error. Better off winning or losing.
