I suspect he'll survive because there aren't enough Tories with a backbone or integrity to get rid of him. They should be ashamed of themselves just as much as Johnson should be ashamed. Whole thing stinks. I hope they get pummelled in the local elections. Tits ( just testing 'tits' is still allowed)

 

I tend to agree. However, if he survives, every opposition candidate at the next general election will be able to remind voters that their Tory mp did nothing to get rid of him. People don't remember the really important things like Dido Harding's £37 billion for track and trace, but they WILL remember parties in Downing street.

Those who think they will succeed him want as much rubbish out of the way as possible before they stick their heads above the parapet. But his time is over, it's just a matter of when.

One thing I have noted the last few days, a couple of the polling companies who just so happen to have a particular leaning towards the conservatives have changed their methodologies, which amazingly, just so happen to show the gap between labour and the tories to be much reduced! I know, the coincidence is just uncanny.

 

You're probably right. I find that depressing. I don't care about the parties. I think they're wrong and I understand the anger that many must be feeling. The obvious example is that of someone whose loved one died alone in hospital and they couldn't visit because the lockdown laws prevented them doing so. There are hundreds of other examples. While the very people who wrote the laws continually flouted them.
I find it depressing because Boris and his government should be facing charges of curruption, they should be facing charges of manslaughter for their role in the deaths in care homes, they should be facing charges for bringing in laws that destroyed livelihoods, killed tens of thousands of people with treatable diseases, drove people to dispair and beyond. Covid does not make political decisions, politicians do. That they also had parties, as infuriating as that is, is the very least of their sins. They destroyed our country and got wealthier while doing so.

 

Perversely, I hope he does survive, it almost guarantees the Tories getting the boot at next GE.

 

I don't want him on the levers of power a second longer than is possible. He's too reckless and hapless and corrupt to be left around to cause chaos and damage.

Plus, I actually want him turfed out mid parliament because of his wrongdoings. He'd never admit, but the humiliation for him will root deep.

I have written to my MP twice urging him to use his power to force a leadership vote. He is waiting for the Gray Report. I shall write again whatever the outcome.

He is the worst prime minister in my lifetime, which goes beck to Churchill's second term as PM (when he was over the hill and well down the other side).

What variety is your MP, I am expecting mine to toe the party line as he is from the 2019 intake in a safe seat.

 

She's been in since the days of Blair, but it's not a safe seat. It was held by Edwina Currie in the 80s, then went Labour.

One of the safest Tory seats in the country here, Alicia Kearns replaced the attention craving Alan Duncan who'd held it for over 25yrs. Staunch Boris loyalist who suddenly hosted the recent pork pie plot when they thought public opinion might be turning. Named due to her representation of Melton Mowbray, but that fizzled out to nothing and she's blended back into keeping her head down and taking the money.
Lovely part of the country so long as u ignore politics and Hoorays chasing furry animals about on horseback dressed in silly coats.

 

I would have hoped you got better from a Labour MP. Mine will have an arse full of splinters from sitting on the fence but he is in a safe seat so he will toe the party line in the end.

 

Just to be clear, she's Tory; Heather Wheeler, Derbyshire South. We live in Swadlincote which used to be a (scab) mining area and was strongly Labour but the rest of the constituency is rural with well-to-do places like Melbourne, Repton, Ticknall and Findern (where Edwina Currie still lives).
