    I’ve paused mine till I have another think got 3 letters in the right place after 4 goes need to think about whether to throw a guess to try and get the other 2 or work out how many other options there are. Will have to come back to this a bit later as long as my roof stays on as we were upgraded to a Red wind warning overnight

    It's a great strategy, but I'm not sure how much help it would be with today's, suppose it depends when you move to that strategy and how many of your potential letters you can throw in.

    Know the feeling I was in the same position as you. I spent an entire conference call (on the bits I wasn't interested in) working though the options and got down to 3 words that worked with my remaining letters and 2 guesses to go. Fortunately 2 of them shared a letter so I relaxed a bit and picked one of those thinking if it was wrong at least I should know which to go with for my final guess. Luckily I picked right for once

    My 100% record is intact, but only just. I needed letters 3 and 4 on the last go, which looked impossible with the remaining letters...until I remembered a letter can be used more than once...doh!

    I was like that so I did Jay’s strategy of entering a random word, although it felt a bit like cheating as I knew it couldn’t be that word based on my other guesses. Got it on 6.
